West Point police said a man received life-threatening injuries in what they are investigating as an aggravated assault at a restaurant
David Knighten of West Point told AP earlier by phone that he and Weems had gone to a Waffle House early Saturday. He said a man waved him over outside the restaurant and told him politely that people were upset by the killing of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, and it wasnt a safe place for whites. When he went in, he said, Weems was inside and was arguing with other men.
They left after an argument that brought police, Knighten said. He said he showed those officers his .45-caliber handgun and his concealed carry permit.
That was about 1 a.m., according to police, who did not give either mans name in a press release posted by WCBI-TV (http://bit.ly/YRDPQj ).
On the way to Weems house, Knighten said, they went into a Huddle House restaurant with a nearly vacant parking lot.
However, he said, they apparently had been followed by more than 20 people.
Knighten, who said he had served with the Air Force in Afghanistan, said he came out of the restroom to find Weems surrounded. I was trying to defuse the situation, he said.
After some shoving, he said, the security guard told everyone to leave.
Knighten said some people blocked him from leaving with Weems. When he got out, he said, Weems was down and people were kicking him. Knighten said others attacked him, adding I do remember racial slurs being yelled from the crowd.
Knighten says he has broken bones in his face, a cut over his left eye and a blood clot in his right eye.
Police did not arrive until after the crowd had left, he said.

You know, there is no substitute for common sense.
When I’m out, I’ve always got my radar on, I don’t care what time it is.
There are times when I’m driving home and I notice a car that seems to have been there for a while. I’ll drive by my block and make a few turns to see if they stay on my tail. Doesn’t happen very often, but it’s worth the effort.
One time it could save you a lot of grief.
It is not you.
The article is very poorly constructed and poorly written.
It is also likely that this was a local news article where all that stuff could be assumed.
They did take the advice. They left the Waffle House and went to a place with a nearly empty parking lot. They were FOLLOWED by a crowd of 20 thugs....
West Point Ga.?
We are getting very close to the point where an armed white guy is attacked and defends himself. This was a near miss for that. Going to interesting to see what the spin on that event is.
If I am interpreting the article correctly, the two men left the first place they went to(a Waffle House)following the threats and a confrontation. They were apparently then followed to another restaurant (a Huddle House) where one of them was attacked and injured.
It appears they did try to avoid the angry crowd, but the angry crowd targeted and followed them.
Was Mississippi.
As best I can tell:
Waffle House - 1st restaurant the two men visited. They were threatened, had confrontation, ended up leaving.
Huddle House - 2nd restaurant they visited. They were followed there by a gang of thugs, and one of them was attacked and severely injured.
Injured man - Weems - Marine
Injured man’s companion - Knighten - former Air force w/concealed carry permit and .45 pistol.
That was my first thought, but the TV station that originated the story is in West Point, Mississippi.
Followed by 20 people?
What a cowardly bunch.
“Aggravated Assault”? How about “Hate Crime”?
The article neglects to state how far the Huddle House was from Waffle House.
Were they on foot or in a car?
Did the police not notice 2 men followed by 20 people?
If so, what did they do?
I am not suggesting there is more to the story than in the article. Certainly I am not cop bashing. These are just questions I had after reading the article.
After reading the original AP article I learned:
-There was a 1 hour time frame from when the men went to Waffle House and the police were called to Huddle House.
-Police Chief Tim Brinkley said in a press release: "This does not appear to be a hate crime. We are investigating this as an aggravated assault. It's very early in this investigation but thus far the evidence and statements suggest that a verbal altercation turned physical and somebody got hurt."
One more question:
-The men were warned in a very polite way the Waffle House was not safe. They did not heed the warning. Why? Did they think if they meant no harm, they would receive no harm? Were they looking for a fight?
I am in no way blaming them for their injuries or for being attacked. I would like to have the full set of facts which the AP did not include.
Actually that was 3 more questions. :)
Mississippi. I spent 5 months in that shiitehole in 2010 working out of the Navistar plant. West Point is the most depressing place I have ever been to in the US.
I wouldn’t live there for any amount of money. Seems like the entire population is Tribal over there.
After reading the first sentence, I just felt compelled to read the entire mishmash of words and ideas. The individual who majored in journalism, must have missed Comprehension 101.
Is this any better?
In what they are investigating as an aggravated assault, West Point police said a man received life-threatening injuries at a restaurant
Regards,
My bad.
How about don’t be out after midnight without your platoon?
When will the marches start? When will holder swoop down and start the criminal investigation?
(never. non-Whites are given a free pass to attack and even kill Whites)
