In a Friday op-ed which appeared in the paper's international print edition on Saturday and which can reasonably be seen as giving voice to an editorial board which wouldn't dare put their name to it, La Salle University Political Science Professor Michael Boyle strenuously objected to recent characterizations of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
We can't call ISIS "evil." We also shouldn't call them a "cancer," or "savage," or "barbaric." Oh, and the fact that George W. Bush called Al Qaeda "evildoers" is why ISIS came to be, and why our problems with radical Islam are now worse.
“We can’t call ISIS “evil.” We also shouldn’t call them a “cancer,” or “savage,” or “barbaric.””
That would be judgmental.
“That would be judgmental.”
Yes, we need to be understanding of people who chop other people’s heads off.
Sounds like the Times got a phone call from a stock-holding Saudi prince. Like FOX got right after 9-11.
Would the NY Slimes, the “news” clan that published this crap, think the same thing if ISIS attacked their building?
(crickets)
I’m sure the good professor wouldn’t have called Stalin, Hitler or Pol Pot evil either. But the Tea Party, well, that’s another story.....
Spoken like a man who has no fixed beliefs or moral center, IMHO.
Muslims like Obama don’t consider human trafficking to be wrong.
Just goes to show we’ll never get America back unless we reclaim or wipe out the current commie education system.
Why, did you not know that the NYT is the main supporter of the Nevil Chamberlain International Peace Initiative?
OH MY GOD This is pure leftist insanity.
My take exactly...
Yet another “professor” whose pinhead produces drivel. I bet ever he didn’t read his worthless dissertation. Itr continues to shock and disgust me that public money funds their existence.
I’m not sure what your point is. Do you know where that is taking place today?
There are times in our life when we have the time to do studies on what is taking place with government and other concerns.
There are also times in our lives when family, work, and other concerns occupy most of our time.
I’m not going to fault people because they go through periods when they simply can’t keep up with what is going on.
Some folks work more than one job, or have family requirements that are elevated enough where they simply can’t keep up with things as we do.
I laughed when he came up with the ‘blame Bush’ line... guy’s a joke.
