The indictment of Gov. Rick Perry by a grand jury in Travis County, Texas, is part of a power struggle that originates with a serious crime, albeit not one committed by Gov. Perry.
That crime, as everyone knows by now, is drunk driving, and it was committed by Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg.
When Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg, Democrat, was arrested and charged with drunk driving on April 12, 2013, her blood alcohol level measured .23.
That is just shy of three times the legal limit in Texas, which is .08.
According to the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, Lehmberg must have consumed about 10 alcoholic drinks in one hour to achieve a .23 blood alcohol rating.
District Attorney Lehmberg also had an open bottle of vodka in her car, violating Texas longstanding open container law.

From January 2012 to April 2013 15 months Lehmberg made 59 purchases of alcohol at various Twin Liquors stores, a rate of nearly one purchase a week.
She bought 76 bottles of alcohol. According to the receipts, Lehmberg prefers Ciroc vodka. Lehmberg routinely purchased 1.75 liter bottles of vodka, at a price of nearly $60 each. On occasions, she bought more than one 1.75 liter bottle of Ciroc at a time.
Those 76 bottles add up to 24.7 gallons of alcohol purchased over 15 months. The last purchase in the KEYE-compiled list was on April 2, 2013 10 days before her arrest for drunk driving, and the subsequent attempt to abuse her power by trying to intimidate the officers who processed her in jail. Lehmberg purchased vodka on that day. An open bottle of vodka was found in her car during her arrest.

She didn’t spend the whole 45 days in jail. She served about half that sentenced.
“LOLalso how did a grand jury even indict on these frivolous charges?”
I believe the Grand Jury consisted of the City of Austin’s finest leftists.
Perry should demand a trial NOW!
True! And the first thing his lawyer should do when given a change to rebut the state's opening argument is to ask the judge for a directed verdict, citing the obvious baselessness...and political retribution...aspects of the case.
Tom Delay eventually got an appeals court to declare him "not guilty",in spite of the jury's verdict, because the evidence that this very same pervert whore presented against him was insufficient to prove guilt. But her ultimate goal was still achieved...it destroyed him politically. And that's what she wants here...not to see Perry in prison but destroyed politically.
Face down on the bathroom floor?
According to that article, she's been a drunk for a long time
Perry looks good to the ones who have morals, who acknowledge a difference between good and evil, who are conservatives, who are Christians, who don’t like big shots taking advantage of their positions and abusing others, who don’t like nasty old ladies, who don’t like hypocrites...have I missed anyone? Now, take the opposite of those and throw in a love of lying and a complicit news media and realize it’s going to be a battle (the beginning of many) leading up to the elections. Why now? The woman’s had a year.
We’ve got plenty of them (the “opposites”)in TX, PLUS a bunch of illiterates who listen to and believe the lies and will vote accordingly.
I’m praying for Perry and for what’s right to win out, but I’m not ignorant of the enemy and their tactics.
Only God can help us, bottom line.
I think I recall reading some time ago that once a person is charged with DUI for the first time it generally means a person has not been caught the other ten times they were driving while inebriated.
That she has trumped up these baseless types of charges before should be enough to dismiss the whole mess. It takes a judge to collude with her.
Notice, she, like all libtards, has no shame at all. They are psychotic, sociopathic, parasites. Self-absorbed. She was not ashamed of being drunk or being arrested she was outraged that she got caught and was being treated that way and that it would “ruin her career”.
She is just like obungo.
IF she did surrender her law license-—can she STILL be a District Attorney?
Seems like the job would require her to have a law license.
I took the main number, and incremented the telephone number by one. I got various voicemails of peeps working for the AG. I was nice, but I said that it is time to fire the drunk. My plan folded like a cheap tent, after about 6 calls.... none of the calls after that will go through... Verizon Wireless blah blah blah.
Oh, that's why she's all p!$$ed off, Perry's defunding her drinking money.
Yes, the Left deals in lies and obfuscation, but I have been keeping an eye on Democrat commentators on some national news outlets. When the likes of David Axelrod and Joe Trippi are saying that this is stupid and will likely help Perry, that is saying something.
Guess we’ll see.
In other words these big time alcoholics drink a ton of booze each day just to stay somewhat functional.
...drinking and drugs.....bad combo.
++++++++
If you watched the video, you may have noticed that, on several occasions, she was ‘clenching’ her teeth. That is a sure sign of using drugs.
I agree fully.
The Democrats have long supported their own crop of drunks & thugs and the country is sick of it all.
On top of that, the department she ran is the group in charge of integrity of Texas public officials.
She apparently is like leaving the fox in charge of the hen house.
IIRC, Perry politely requested that she resign her post. She was unfit to hold such a title. IMO, she can hardly be the head of a department of ‘Integrity” when she has such problems.
She refused.
He threatened to DEFUND her department.
She tried to bluff him.
He vetoed the funding of her department.
She tried a poker bluff. It didn’t work.
Now, the Dems in Texas have given Perry an opportunity to bring out every sordid detail of this woman’s behavior in open court.
BRING IT ON! Go PERRY.!!!
LOL. They changed in the 80's. When I arrived in '83 everyone except the driver could have an open container. That changed again in '85, at the same time the drinking age went to 21.
IF here driver’s license was suspended-—who wants to guess she charged a driver/car or taxi’s to the state of Texas for her normal commute???
