The indictment of Gov. Rick Perry by a grand jury in Travis County, Texas, is part of a power struggle that originates with a serious crime, albeit not one committed by Gov. Perry.
That crime, as everyone knows by now, is drunk driving, and it was committed by Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg.
When Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg, Democrat, was arrested and charged with drunk driving on April 12, 2013, her blood alcohol level measured .23.
That is just shy of three times the legal limit in Texas, which is .08.
According to the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, Lehmberg must have consumed about 10 alcoholic drinks in one hour to achieve a .23 blood alcohol rating.
District Attorney Lehmberg also had an open bottle of vodka in her car, violating Texas longstanding open container law.

From January 2012 to April 2013 15 months Lehmberg made 59 purchases of alcohol at various Twin Liquors stores, a rate of nearly one purchase a week.
She bought 76 bottles of alcohol. According to the receipts, Lehmberg prefers Ciroc vodka. Lehmberg routinely purchased 1.75 liter bottles of vodka, at a price of nearly $60 each. On occasions, she bought more than one 1.75 liter bottle of Ciroc at a time.
Those 76 bottles add up to 24.7 gallons of alcohol purchased over 15 months. The last purchase in the KEYE-compiled list was on April 2, 2013 10 days before her arrest for drunk driving, and the subsequent attempt to abuse her power by trying to intimidate the officers who processed her in jail. Lehmberg purchased vodka on that day. An open bottle of vodka was found in her car during her arrest.

Gov. Perry should have known better than to pick on the poor lush in her moment of weakness.
Nothing worse to be around than a pissed off booze hag
My understanding is she is still in her position.
She needs to be run out on a rail
Listen to the dash cam audio, she told the officer that she had a couple glasses of wine. Her blood alcohol level indicates she had 10 drinks in an hour.I’m surprised the judge didn’t sentence her to a rehab program too.
As we’ve seen Democrats will defend their elected officials no matter if they’re sex maniacs, cokeheads, or drunks. It has nothing to do with compassion for their fellow man. It has everything to do with gaining and holding onto their political power. With that power comes legislative control and of course the money!!!
Everything will work out fine. In typical liberal fashion she will apologize, enter into a twelve step program, ask for forgiveness, go back to being a democrat political hack, become a liberal progressive icon, and run for governor of Texas or maybe even POTUS. What a sick world!
She attended the Ann Richards School of BDWD (being a democrat while drunk)
Ping.
there is an untold fact or story here - she went to jail for 45 days, how many first time offenders get jail time? Not many I bet and certainly not someone with “connections” so why did she surrender her law license and get jail time?
Molly Irvin’s reincarnated.
With graduate studies at the Peg Lautenshlager School of Drunk Attorney Generals....

at least her hair looks done
She only served 22 days of the 45.
save
It’s a wonder she has a liver left.
It occurred to me that this might be something the left will use to not only smear Rick Perry, but also Greg Abbott. I look for Wendy Davis’ voice to get loud, loud, and louder on this as we approach the November 4 elections—and lots and lots of lies. The true issue of Lehmberg’s dispicable behavior and potential to kill someone on the road will be neglected, forgotten, and made insignificant, of course.
She just elevated her dirty laundry on a national scale for all to see. Then again alcoholics can have a delusional sense of reality.
Hung by her own petard.
I disagree. This is going to backfire in a big way. The fed-up nation just might see this is yet another reason that we need a conservative Texan as President. Any democrat running for office in Texas will be in the strange position of having to defend this disgusting drunk.
