**Think of all those who are not famous why struggle with these issues. Sad for the person and very sad for the families.
I know all too well - my Brother & 2 cousins, bipolar.
My Aunt committed suicide about 15 yrs ago.
No one has a “ticket to hell”, and those who commit suicide are sad souls.
I would suggest (without empirical data) that going off anti-depressants will make you suicidal. I know, I’ve gone off them. Getting those damned things are a bitch to wean off.
I don’t think he was in full consent of his will.
Why drag Tiger into a thread about Robin Williams? BTW I had never heard that Rory was on steroids. Tiger has never taken them btw
But back to poor Robin Williams, God Bless his soul
I’ll pray for you and your family. I know how awful that is for everybody involved.
As a teenager I had thoughts also however what stop me from doing it was not the fear of doing it but the fear of what happens afterward. I knew I would stand before God and looking back I am glad I didn’t.
Max, forgive suicide for the people with severe depression. The imbalance in the brain of someone with bipolar is difficult for them to continue living. It’s not a coward’s way out sometimes, as wrong as it is. He needed more help than people knew or anyone could give.
Freedom for all, except those who are too ill to help themselves. Committing a loved one with lots of supervision would be a good thing.
And RIP for the very talented, very hairy Mr. Williams.
“Suicide by asphyxiation....wondering if this was a Carradine kind of scenario.”
That was my first thought, but more likely a bag over the head. A clear failure of California’s anti-plastic bag sentiment.
Take my plastic bag from my cold dead fingers! Ironic.
Coverage about this on fox is getting out of hand, I liked him but this is too much! You would think the second coming was underway. There are more important things going on than this!
His politics and (as I knew them) personal morals were nothing likable, but I did like him.
I hope he made his peace. May God rest his soul.
You obviously know absolutely nothing about suicide.
Yeah, but I think manic / depressive is a more accurate description. Despite it being apparently declared as un PC.
My mother was a alcoholic manic / depressive. Not to sound insensitive, but when I was old enough to leave home I swore I would never (voluntarily) deal with that sh1t again. 50 years later I still get a very unpleasant gut reaction when seeing a family photo of an occassion (of which there were MANY) where it turned into a hellish nightmare when she went off. Intellectually I feel sorry for these people, but I put myself as far away as possible from it.

One of the great comic minds ever. He could do what Winters did. I saw Winters work items in a staged attic and improvise for 30 minutes. Williams did the same. He would grab a scarf, hat, item from a table and do a 5 minute riff.
His last TV series bombed and his stand up was not up to date. Probably just gave up and didn’t hope any more.
I’m sorry to read of your suffering. I can’t offer any comfort, but do hope the time comes that you will find peace permanently in this life.
Hard to believe they’re both gone now... and Johnny Winters, too.
Difficult tragic role played to perfection (imho). RIP Robin. Prayers for Robin's family and friends.
