(CNSNews.com) - When he was running for re-election in 2012, President Barack Obama repeatedly took credit for ending the war in Iraq and bringing all U.S. troops home from that country. Today, at the White House, however, when talking about his decision to use military force against the al-Qaida-related ISIS terrorist group in Iraq, Obama said that removing all U.S. troops from Iraq was not my decision.
Under the previous administration, we had turned over the country to a sovereign, democratically elected Iraqi government, Obama said. In order for us to maintain troops in Iraq, we needed the invitation of the Iraqi government and we needed assurances that our personnel would be immune from prosecution if, for example, they were protecting themselves and ended up getting in a firefight with Iraqis, that they wouldnt be hauled before an Iraqi judicial system.
And the Iraqi government, based on its political considerations, in part because Iraqis were tired of a U.S. occupation, declined to provide us those assurances, Obama said. And on that basis, we left.
Active Duty ping.
Speechless.
I am just speechless.
And amazingly, even though he makes this up as he goes along, no one of any consequence will dare call him on it.
Jeepers creepers. Has he got some kind of severe brain injury or something?
It wasn’t his red line, either.
Bush’s fault.
So much like Sir Robin from ‘the Holy Grail’.
But he is the pres of the US. Ugh
Just another lie - either then or now. One of the stories has to be true. I don’t think he could tell the truth if he was told he’d immediately go to hell if he lied.
Nothing is ever his fault or his decision
“...and we needed assurances that our personnel would be immune from prosecution...”
This man is insane.
Who was SoS?
why do we need him? apparently he’s never made any of these important decisions on anything. always someone else.
When you fight a war and win, you set the terms.
Obama let someone else set the terms for what was earned by American blood and treasure.
Obama did so for political purposes instead of what was best for our country or the people of Iraq.
Bravely bold Sir Robin
Rode forth from Camelot.
He was not afraid to die,
Oh brave Sir Robin.
He was not at all afraid
To be killed in nasty ways.
Brave, brave, brave, brave Sir Robin.
He was not in the least bit scared
To be mashed into a pulp.
Or to have his eyes gouged out,
And his elbows broken.
To have his kneecaps split
And his body burned away,
And his limbs all hacked and mangled
Brave Sir Robin.
His head smashed in
And his heart cut out
And his liver removed
And his bowls unplugged
And his nostrils raped
And his bottom burnt off
And his pen—
“That’s... that’s enough music for now lads,
*** looks like there’s dirty work afoot*** ???.”
Brave Sir Robin ran away.
(”No!”)
Bravely ran away away.
(”I didn’t!”)
When danger reared it’s ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled.
(”no!”)
Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about
(”I didn’t!”)
And gallantly he chickened out.
****Bravely**** taking (”I never did!”) to his feet,
He beat a very brave retreat.
(”all lies!”)
Bravest of the braaaave, Sir Robin!
(”I never!”)

I think they call it chutzpa.
And just who is it that has been awwwwfully quiet the last few days?
For the past couple months, the media was tripping over themselves to get a quote on every current news item from her. Now.....crickets
YOU LIE!!!
What a lying, chicken$hit cowardly feckless punk.
He set his own timeline (2011), to play to his base - the radical America-hating left.
Absolute immaturity on display.
A disgrace to the office, and to America’s sacrifices everywhere.
Not worthy of one scintilla of respect.
