Rep. Colleen Hanabusa (D-Hawaii) criticized President Obama’s decision to conduct airstrikes on Sunni fighters in Iraq.
“Airstrikes are the wrong response to this situation,” Hanabusa said Thursday. “Getting involved in airstrikes moves us a dangerous step closer to direct involvement in Iraq’s sectarian civil war, an entanglement we must avoid.”
On Thursday, Obama said he authorized the military airstrikes in an effort to help Kurdish fighters and refugees under siege from the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS). The Islamic militants recently gained control of a dam and cut off water supplies to parts of the region.
Obama also authorized humanitarian airdrops of water and other supplies to help refugees who have fled from ISIS.
“I fully support humanitarian aid to those trapped by ISIS in the Sinjar Mountains,” Hanabusa said. “We cannot allow a humanitarian crisis to draw us into a war that would again cost the Iraqi people far too much in destruction and lives lost.”
Hanabusa is running against Sen. Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii) for the Senate in Obama's home state this November. Schatz hasn’t commented about Obama’s decision to use airstrikes in Iraq.

ISIS is a-fix-in’ to crush the Kurds against the Southern Border of Turkey.
Russia will soon have control of the North Shore of the Black Sea.
Russia’s Navy must sail past the West end of Turkey to “protect” the Suez Canal while the Oil Tankers filled with Iranian, Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Oil are safely escorted to Crimea.
Jordan and Israel will eventually be overrun or isolated by Muslim Militants be it Hamas, ISIS or whoever on the flash-mob Arab Street.
Meanwhile, Obama will be closely monitoring the situation and gathering all the facts to make sure that this never happens again.
When the Muslim Brotherhood and the Democrat Brotherhood work together with Putin, ANYTHING is possible!
Sorry folks, but if they are stuck on a mountain, boots on the ground will is a must... unless you let them borrow a nuke. Air strikes alone won’t suffice... they just haven’t told us that yet.
That is not the real argument.
Now Obama is no better than Israel using excessive force to annihilate terrorists. This is what Israel is doing to Hamas. Tens of thousands of people have been butchered because of Obama. He has lost the victory in Iraq so hard fought and given the country back to its rightful owners the ISIS terrorists. This is totally consistent with Obama’s strategy in Israel which is to give Israel back to the terrorist Hamas.
What the hell is he doing involving bombing against the terrorists? No doubt he is going to direct his generals to bomb the sand dunes of the desert.
Like that he can say he did something.
Obama is pure evil. I do not believe for a minute he wants to accomplish anything with this bombing. It is all empty perception.

ISIS is not just a part of a “civil war”, they are attacking more than one country.
Islam declared war on the world at it’s very beginning. It’s time that the world realized that.
lol Agreed. So what DO we do? I am one Conservative who does NOT want boots on the ground. No more of our kids dying over there. But arming the government and strategic airstrikes? Works for me. I actually like this response so far.
One more thing.
Any American who goes overseas to fight for these animals should be forever banned from returning to this country for any reason.

Actually I would say yes. I haven’t met her personally in Hawaii but living there almost half the year I have seen enough and heard enough of her inane ramblings to conclude she is as stupid, vapid, and insane as Blabbermouth Shultz. Plus, she’s a racial supremacist. Perfect fit for the democrats.
I believe Obama is obligated to follow the terms of the War powers Act.

Of course, they don’t recognize the legitimacy of the boundaries between those nations.

A rabid Hawaii Democrat will throw any ally under the bus for politics. Hanabusa is running against Rep Schatz (she is behind by a large margin in the polls) for a House seat - it’s comical to see two Hawaii Democrats out liberal themselves - and wants to show she is more liberal. Both candidates are using Obama’s policies as their campaign platform though Obama’s popularity declines everytime a new poll is taken. Delusional and hypocritical is the best I can do for ALL of them. Meanwhile, the people suffer.
