A row has broken out in Italy after a photographer dressed up a famous 2,500-year-old statue in a leopard-skin thong and pink feather boa.
The Riace Bronzes, of Greek warriors, are two of the nation's greatest archaeological treasures.
Photographer Gerald Bruneau was given permission to shoot the warriors at their museum in Reggio Calabria.
However, work was halted when he was discovered dressing the statues. The museum called the images "terrible".
A local politician has now demanded a judicial inquiry.
The images were published on Italy's Dagospia website.

The photographer is an idiot. Unless i missed it, no damage done. This seems inconsequential. Any 12 year-old with access to photoshop could do far worse. FWIW, I understand that back in the 19th century The David was commonly displayed draped.
Perhaps it’s just me but I have bigger concerns.

That’s who I thought of when I saw the photo of the statue.
In my all girls classical high school, we used to put a bra on Venus De Milo and paint the toes of “The Boy With A Thorn in His Foot”
Nobody had cameras or cell phones back then, so we just have our memories.
My dad was visiting Norway as a teen. In Oslo there is a huge statue with hundreds of naked men climbing all over each other trying to get to the top of the pile. (Something to do with the struggle to be top dog, not a gay thing).
Anyway, when he visited he recalled it to me, and said “And somebody had vandalized it - painted all the tips of the penis’s red!”
Oh my...... that must have been a sight!
The “artist” of that monument in Oslo has some other statues that are even more weird! (I looked it up!)
Leftists are such pikers. If they were serious they’d have smashed it to pieces like ISIS.
