Former Gov. Jesse Ventura won his defamation case against the author of

No matter what the jury said Jesse got his (a)ss kicked by Chris Kyle whether he laid a finger on him. The Body is done no one will look at him and say anything but loser. I hope he never see a penny.
Using your logic, what a disgrace that the George Zimmerman jurors took his side over the mother of a loving teenager....
As a side note, here's an interesting article I found.......
I'll refrain from commenting and let you be the judge........
Slain Navy sniper said he decked Jesse Ventura, but a second tale is disputed, too
Yes. A number of witnesses testified that it did happen.
DO NOT FORGET they ALSO elected him as governor of their state!!!!!
Thanks for the post, I love a happy ending! B^)
“I dont understand why the attorney would have consented to an 8-2 rather than unanimous. It undercuts the whole purpose of the trial.”
Yeah, that’s something. The woman married to the nation’s best warrior gets stuck with it’s worst lawyer.
A bunch of witnesses said Ventura was there being obnoxious and running his mouth about anti govt stuff. One guy said he heard the whole thing and Jesse did say the SEAL’s needed to lose a few. Its a miracle he only got punched once instead of a SEAL beatdown.
Long story short it was a SEAL bar in Coranado, CA and everybody was drinking heavily. From the testimony I read online I don’t see $1.8 million coming Jesse’s way. He got lucky at the expense of a widow and her children. What a guy!
Thee insuranace company may have said let’s go this route instead of possibility of a retrial.
Their portion of this is half a million.
SEALs : you all going to let this stand ?
Mexico is a dangerous place .....
All Ventura had to prove was that Kyle lied and did so knowingly.
When there’s a videotaped admission directly from the man saying he did those things, it’s not too hard.
I love that people on this thread are saying Kyle’s lawyer must have been incompetent. I say he must have been a genius to be able to convince two out of ten jurors that the videotape was wrong.
Yeah, that’s what I don’t get about some of the people posting on this thread. They dislike Ventura so much they want to ignore Kyle’s own deposition.
Going through another trial would’ve meant a ton more money lost to attorney’s fees. I can picture Kyle’s widow thinking no sense in throwing good money after bad.
Anyone can be defamed. Even Hitler, if you say he hated his mother. The SOB famously loved his mom.
The article says that Ventura claimed the entire incident was fabricated. There are witnesses who say it did happen, but I guess others couldn’t corroborate it. Don’t know, doesn’t matter—Ventura’s a tool for pursuing this.
I have no problem with Ventura. The MSM media has a way of skewing everything as propaganda to divide us for their pet issues. They hate the Tea Party. They hate patriotism and they hate America. Their goal is to keep the schmucks infighting.
Hitler tried suing a US publisher that released a translated edition of Mein Kampf (I believe this was before the war). I never have read how that turned out.
From the article, Kyle’s legal team had 11 witnesses but they were drunk at the time and there were discrepancies in their stories. The article didn’t mention any witnesses on behalf of Ventura.
Sounds like maybe the ghost writer and publisher WERE trying to gain from defaming Ventura, if what you’ve said is true. Which is really sad then, because the $500,000 for defamation is going to be paid by the publisher’s insurance company, but the $1.3 million for wrongful profit will be paid out of the widow’s profits, if I’m understanding correctly.
Stinks if both Ventura and the widow had to go through this crap because the publisher wanted to make money off what Kyle didn’t even want in the book. I’m not a Ventura fan in any way and suspect that most of what was claimed was probably true, but Ventura had no way to really win once the story was published. He’s still not going to be accepted by other SEALs even with this court win, because he put Kyle’s widow through all this. IMHO.
