The people on the Mavi Marmara flotilla were genocidal Jew-hating jihadis, as you can see in the second video above: they were chanting a jihad war cry recalling Muhammads massacre of the Jews of Arabia: Khaybar, Khaybar, O Jews, the army of Muhammad will return. See the photos here of their weapons.
And now Turkish troops will be accompanying a new jihad flotilla to Gaza. Will they attack Israeli troops?
Turkey to send another Freedom Flotilla to Gaza, Middle East Monitor, July 26, 2014:
The Turkish humanitarian relief organisation (IHH) is currently organising a Freedom Flotilla II which will carry humanitarian aid to the besieged Gaza Strip, IHH chairman Bulent Yildrim said Thursday.
In statements to Gulf Online, Yildrim said that his organisation has embarked on legal procedures and paperwork required to obtain a permit for the trip. As soon as a final permit is issued, the IHH along with other international organisations will immediately set up the convoy.
The chairman of IHH, a major organiser of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla I, said that Turkish army troops will accompany the ships to protect it from any potential attack, pointing out that his organisation demanded the government to provide protection for them as Turkish citizens.
Maze Keheil, the president of the European Campaign for Lifting the Siege on Gaza, confirmed his campaigns intention to take part in the new flotilla, as it did in first one in 2010.
I hope the ships of the new flotilla aren’t sunk.
Turkey also has lots of USA nukes in marginally-secure facilities.
The Incirlik base near Adana has plenty of nukes Turkey could obtain and is not overly secure.
What happens when Turkish aggressors are destroyed ?
Turkey invokes Chapter 7 of the NATO treaty?
IAF sinks Turkish fleet to show resolve for NATO to back off?
NATO responds by atacking IAF bases?
Israel puts some of 300 warheads to good use?
Since NATO is already poking the Russian bear Ruskies jump into the fray in ME on Israeli side, Chicoms and India simultaneously respond in the Indian Ocean and Pacific.
Golfer in Chief will figure it out when the sky darkens because of the fallout. He could only whine to the Neocons: give me back my fleets.
Gog and Magog time.
Sure. Remember, though, that the Charter was written in 1949 but Turkey didn't join NATO until 1952 (along with Greece).
It would be reasonable to assume that it would not cover territories such as the Falklands or French Indo-China.
Article 6 clarifies the meaning of Article 5:
Article 6 (1) For the purpose of Article 5, an armed attack on one or more of the Parties is deemed to include an armed attack:
- on the territory of any of the Parties in Europe or North America, on the Algerian Departments of France (2), on the territory of or on the Islands under the jurisdiction of any of the Parties in the North Atlantic area north of the Tropic of Cancer;
- on the forces, vessels, or aircraft of any of the Parties, when in or over these territories or any other area in Europe in which occupation forces of any of the Parties were stationed on the date when the Treaty entered into force or the Mediterranean Sea or the North Atlantic area north of the Tropic of Cancer.
(In reading that, you have to remember that the treaty was signed in 1949, but Turkey did not join until 1952)
Think about it logically: why would Turkey even join NATO if they couldn't count on NATO to come to their defense?
Could the prophecy of the Book of Revelations have started?
If so, fasten your seat belt, it’s going to be a wild ride.

I am not saying you are wrong. However, NATO was set up to counter the Soviet threat. Turkey shares a European border with then-Soviet bloc Bulgaria to the north and Asian borders with USSR to the east, Iran, Iraq, and Syria to the south. Since Turkey was a target (along with Greece) of the USSR in the 40s and 50s (Truman Doctrine), I’m sure we would have defended Turkey from Soviet invasion attack in either Europe or Asia. If Syria were to attack Turkey, would the NATO treaty require NATO intervention? Don’t know. How about if Greece attacked?
Now and maybe more to the point, if a Turkish flagged vessel with Turkish troops aboard tries to run an Israeli blockade of Gaza, would that trigger NATO action? Now we both know that with Dear Leader at the helm, it doesn’t matter what the treaty says, it is what he wants it to saythe Europe/North America bit is just a drafting error.
Or think about Iran back in the 80s.
The NATO treaty was, as you said, designed to counter the Soviet threat. However, we can see from history...consider the Balkans as an example...that they can go beyond that if they so decide.
I never suggested killing Turks, just disabling the ships that are carrying them. Adrift at sea, this is why Israel should quietly contract with a neutral country to offer them a tow to a neutral port. They cannot demand to be towed to Gaza, because that would cost the neutral their neutrality.
The easiest and cheapest way for Israel to disable those ships would be to run drift nets in their path. Propellers hate drift nets. And abandoned drift nets are so common that they are referred to as ghost nets.
We are living in very dangerous times.
We are entering a period with three simultaneous cold wars: US/China; US/Islam; and US/Russia.
I very much doubt that they’ll go through with it. Looks like another reelection campaign stunt by Erdogan. Israel’s best preemptive move would be to sink the vessels to be used while still in port and with no one aboard. Or, open full relations with Kurdistan. Or, send help to the FSA, which has (at best) been abandoned by the Turks. Or, send a flotilla of arms to jihadists inside Turkey so they can begin Erdogan’s overthrow.
Thanks markomalley.
add US/Veterans, US/Tea Party and US/Border Enforcement
shoot holes in the boats and force them to convert to Christianity or drown.
I’m sure Turkey is well aware of their responsibility as a NATO member, and have closely consulted with all members of the organization. After all, who wants to be all unilateral, and cowboyish. Has anyone urged them to exercise restraint, yet? Lurch? Do your diplovoodoo that you do do so well.
I honestly thought this said ‘tortilla’ instead of ‘flotilla’.... I need to lay off the wine....
That is for Israel to decide.
And for Turkey to react to.
The pot is being stirred.
