The Communist Party of Ukraine will cease to exist on Thursday, the speaker of Ukraine's parliament announced.
"We only have to tolerate this party for another day," Verkhovnaya Rada speaker Oleksandr Turchinov said on Wednesday in comments carried by online news portal Ostro.org.
Discussion of the Communist Party's dissolution began in earnest in May, after party leader Petro Simonenko said that if he were in charge of the country, he would immediately call back the troops from eastern Ukraine, referring to the military operations taking place there as acts of "war against the people," RIA Novosti reported.
Turchinov, who was serving at the time as acting president, then appealed to the Justice Ministry to request an investigation into the Communist Party's activities.
Russia's State Duma denounced the move at the time, viewing it as an attempt by the new Kiev authorities to "force political and civil forces that do not agree with the path taken by the ultranationalist powers to shut up," according to RIA Novosti.
The Verkhovnaya Rada paved the way for the party's dissolution on Tuesday by amending its rules to vest the speaker of the house with power to dissolve the Communist Party. On Tuesday evening, President Petro Poroshenko signed a bill giving effect to the new regulations.
Turchinov's announcement was made on Wednesday morning amid heavy infighting.
Speaking before his fellow parliamentarians, Simonenko made a statement about Ukraine's security services having allegedly "destroyed" citizens for black-market organ transplants, Interfax reported, citing members of the nationalist Svoboda Party.
Svoboda Party members then accused Simonenko of disseminating false information, and endeavored to physically eject him from the parliament.
An all-out brawl promptly ensued.
Amid the chaos, Turchinov exercised his new powers to announce the party's impending dissolution, before calling for a 15-minute break so deputies could calm down. Following the news, all of the Communist Party members present at the time then reportedly walked out.
Cnn course mixed it with unecessssary junk as usual....they could have mentioned yesterdays Parliment meeting whena video. when they voted out any Russian representation in the government...
As I mentioned before Ukraine shoots off it’s own foot time and time again....
But I think this is part of the plan....reset button!
Ukraine’s Gov is falling apart from within..Yats resigning....although that might be part of the plan....
Yatsenyuk made the announcement after parliament’s two parties said they would pull out of the governing coalition....yesterday lots of fist fighting therein.
Can't hardly believe people can't see this genocide of clearing out the Ukrainian Russians from the nation. Bombing it to smithereens forcing the citizens to have no recourse but flee to Russia. And then clearing all representation from the government....
After YAts resigned parliament registered a bill scheduling early parliamentary elections to be held on September 28.
Looks to me like the "system" is rising once more to the top.
Whenever McCain is on the move you can be guaranteed trouble will follow. He’s one of Obama’s front men.
Stepan Bandera was not a member of the NAZI Party that existed at the time. That Political Party was dedicated to Germany and Hitler and no longer exists.
Bandera was a Ukrainian nationalist freedom fighter. Anti- Russian, and anti communist. His associations with the German NAZI Party are non-existent. (ie: never happened)
He made a statement after the Nazi's invaded Russia (and I paraphrase because I don't have the quote at my desk) something to the effect that the invasion was the best thing that had happened for the Ukraine.
That is not a association with the NAZI Party. It was a statement of fact.
I will say this one more time in a different way.
In the US, as a conservative or a republican, everyone at one time or another is associated with Hitler as either a fascist or a Nazi, simply as a result of being on the right and against the left.
In Europe these false associations are 10X more common and widely used almost on a daily basis by the left against the right.
Yet you suck them up like a commie vacuum cleaner.
It was accusations like this that caused the brouhaha in the Ukraine that resulted in this thread.
You are dead wrong and tirelessly ignorant of the reality we live in, especially in Europe.
Wise up or just stop posting this tripe. If you do, you will never get a argument from me because I tend to live and let live. Opinions to me are like bung holes, everyone has one but when you write it or vocalize it and it is wrong, I will always try to defeat it if I give a hoot...
So I must think this important or I would not be wasting my time.
Relationship with Nazi Germany[edit]
Historian David Marples summarizes the intermittently close relationship between Bandera, the OUN and Nazi Germany as "ambivalent", tactical and opportunistic, with both sides trying to exploit the other unsuccessfully.[24]
This is the same sort of relationship that Hitler had with the country of Spain. They used each other and had a common enemy list. It was a relationship of convenience and perhaps some necessity.
Not much different then the relationship George Washington had with the French.
"The enemy of my enemy is my friend."
What you are doing is taking in leftist inspired propaganda, some new, some old but all crap, to castigate the right wing political efforts in the Ukraine as being illegitimate.
So what that means in effect is that you are supporting and not working feverishly for the Communist Left in the country called the Ukraine, thereby benefiting them and their struggle to stay relevant.
Have a nice day.....
not working....should be now working..
So as a rule we don't use association propaganda. I view it as the last refuge of a political hack.
Your turn....
Who is expelled, who not? Whats the litmus test? Its not like the Russians in the east came there yesterday.
Ukraine is finished. They will exist, of course, but as part of the Russian hegomony. They will be a basket case where they know what their limits are, imposed on them by Russia.
Europe is spineless. Further financial sanctions will hurt them too, so even these will likely have no teeth. They are dependant on Russian energy, and they are willing to sacrifice a lot to appease the aligorical aligator may that be radical Islam, Russia...(depleted by WWII and socialism which has made them weak).
In reality, the handwriting for this move by Putin was on the wall for a long time. We and our allies chose to ignore the signs.
So, Putin wins, we lose. The rest is bullshit intended to make Kerry, Obama and our western allied leaders appear concerned, committed, knowledgeable and relevant. Its words that are not backed by any tangible actions. Its rather embarrassing and I would prefer they just shut up.
