Vladimir Putin just showed the world exactly what he thinks of the President of the United State and NATO allies calls for him to rein in the pro-Russian separatists in Ukraine.
Less than a week after rebels took down a Malaysian passenger plane carrying nearly 300 civilians, the militants loyal to Moscow are not laying low. Two Ukrainian fighter jets were shot down Wednesday in the eastern regions of the country that are controlled by Russian-backed separatists, according to Ukraines defense ministry, USA Today reported on Wednesday.
It was the first reported shoot down of a plane over eastern Ukraine since a Malaysia Airlines jet carrying 298 people went down last Thursday, killing everyone aboard. U.S. officials say the Flight MH 17 was apparently brought down by a surface-to-air missile.
A similar SU-25 jet was shot down on July 17, the might before the MH 17 crash, by an air-to-air missile along the countrys border with Russia, according to the Andriy Lysenko, a spokesman for Ukraines national defense and security council.
The planes were reportedly taken down in the rebel-held eastern part of Ukraine, but far removed from the area in which MH17 was allegedly hit by a sophisticated surface-to-air missile....

The rebels apparently shot two of the four aircraft Kiev sent to try and stop the Rebels from overrunning the Units trapped in the southeast.
The conflicting info says the 79th Brigade was either “destroyed”, or surrendered, with some fleeing over the border into Russia.
If true, this is a huge loss to Kiev, in both militarily terms and image.
George S. Patton was right.
Thank you. I’m sick of the media trying to equate shooting down military jets with shooting down a passenger aircraft. It doesn’t matter if we agree with one side over the other or neither. Military planes are going to be a legitimate target.
I heard that the 79th Brigade tele-transported themselves back to Kiev.
Assuming of course this report is true.
Exactly right! The Russians are just doing what the “West” has done several times — enforcing a “no-fly” zone.
(Please note: I am in no way excusing the downing of passenger jets.)
Tele-transported? when did the United Federation of Planets get involved?

Not UFP, George Soros. (I’m just having a little fun with the Twitter Brigade).
One interesting hypothesis is that a Ukranian fighter jet wasn't just flying near the path of the passenger plane, the cowards were using it for cover.
Two of their planes being shot down since the passenger plane went down gives credence to that argument. So does the deaths of civilians in Luhansk after the passenger plane went down, during what was supposed to be a cease fire.
It’s not a fair fight anyways. Ukraine has (or had) an air force. Those who are seeking their independence don’t. The separatist did capture one plane I believe.
Why don’t you ask the pilots of the planes being shot down if the fight is “fair.”
“Military planes are going to be a legitimate target.”
Kiev first tried to say that these were taken down FROM Russia, by a BUK. Now they have backed off of that, saying manpads.
The rebels are claiming one downed by AA fire, and one downed by MANPAD.
“Why dont you ask the pilots of the planes being shot down if the fight is fair.”
Does the same apply to the people these pilots bombed and strafed??
“One interesting hypothesis is that a Ukranian fighter jet wasn’t just flying near the path of the passenger plane, the cowards were using it for cover.”
You will note that today’s releases of info about the shoot-down, never mentioned the fighter that the Russians claimed was near the Malaysian airliner.
They didn’t mention it at all, yay or nay, which really makes me wonder what the Russians will say tomorrow, after the cockpit voice recorder gets released.
Apparently these separatists actually want to win, so they are not hamstrung by the sissy-boy Rules of Engagement the 0bama Regime imposes on our troops; they can actually shoot at the other side and fighter jets are not the same as an airliner.
