NASA is Pointless, Declares Creationist may be a rather obvious headline, but Ken Ham took it one step further and declared why NASA is pointless: because theyre searching for extraterrestrial life, and according to the Bible, aliens are going to go to hell anyways, so why even bother?
Jesus did not become the GodKlingon or the GodMartian! he declared in a Sunday column on his website, Answering Genesis. Only descendants of Adam can be saved.
(Ham) You see, the Bible makes it clear that Adams sin affected the whole universe. This means that any aliens would also be affected by Adams sin, but because they are not Adams descendants, they cant have salvation.

He obviously has not read C.S.Lewis.
He does posit a contingency in accord with his disbelief in aliens. There are many who disbelieve. He then argues against that contingency, saying in so many words that, if there are aliens, they would not be included as necessary object for evangelism, much as it is for angels. I am not a disciple of Ken Ham, but understand him to lend authority to the biblical texts as the basis for his lines of thought. The source quoting him here should be considered an uncooperative, if not hostile, witness. The general subject is one that has so many people speculating in vain that it distracts from the simpler matter of being a good neighbor and trusting God for all that is good.
Why search for Aliens ?? Because they taste like Chicken. . . (evil grin)
I don’t have any interest in intelligent life or whether they’ve been saved. God created the entire universe and if he created it for us to spread across, that’s even better.
That might be a good reason not to transmit electromagnetic signals into outer space - which some aliens might interpret as supermarket daily specials or fast-food ads.
It sounds to me like Ham is afraid of finding out some day that God hasn’t limited Himself to just this one planet in the vast universe.
He said “fill the earth”.
If He’d said “fill all of creation”, now THAT would be a “mandate”!
Fill the earth is tough enough, but I’m doing my part.
Actually, he’s not “afraid” at all.
He’s just taking God at His Word.
"I'll have a Roast Kardashian, please, with a side of Parishilton ..."
It could be the eternal post earth life is on the distant planet
The aliens are us
If there are aliens a billion light years away, isn’t it a safe bet God created “them” too? Maybe this guy has a counter-part “out there” saying we are all going to hell here on Earth.
If the universe is geocentric, then space would be “up” - in which case, the universe is part of the lower heavens. Technically, wouldn’t that make any “alien” really a kind of “angel” - i.e., an inhabitant of the heavens? And if so, they had their choice for or against God long ago. In which case, there is no salvation for those who chose against God.
IF intelligent alien life exists, how can this man be so sure that God did not send them their own savior to save them from their sins?
True.
you’re welcome
i would further add that the Bible does not prohibit man from going into space... indeed it even appears to envision all of creation as being intended for our use,
Psalms 8:3,6; Deuteronomy 4:19
anyway, I am happy we are exploring space... there’s so much yet to discover and learn about God’s amazing Creation....
Well, if they have immortal souls, that is. We don’t even know if good old Rover will make it to heaven, why would we assume aliens will?
“I see no Biblical reference to it being a sin to launch out into space in exploration.
If man can find ways to inhabit space, he should do it. Its a survivalist endeavor.
The human race would be stupid not to try to ensure that it survives a planet killer.”
Why would we need to try to escape to space to avoid that disaster, when we can escape it right here on earth, by simply giving ourselves to Christ?
Actually, Christ said most people on earth are going to hell and few are going to heaven.
Mat 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
The Apostle Paul also taught us this:
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
We’re saved by faith, and faith comes by hearing the Word of God. Anyone who never hears the Word of God definitionally can never be saved.
So when the aliens arrive (and I don’t mean the illegals from south of the border) you will be there with Quix and call them demons from hell masquerading as aliens?
Sounds a bit LDS, but hey it might turn out that they were right after all.
