Very sad, this happened to the husband of one of my co-workers, he was changing a light bulb in an outdoor fixture. Did not know he was allergic and couldn’t be saved in time.

Probably white-faced hornets, the curse of the Canadian bush.

Yellow-jackets are a mere annoyance, comparatively.

Man that’s a bad way to go.

Makes my ear tingle where I was stung by a wasp 30 years ago! Felt like being hit in the side of the head with a bat.

I can’t imagine 15 stings. Dang.

All flying, stinging insects make me nervous, but none moreso than the infamous Japanese Sparrow Bee (aka Giant Hornet). They kill around 40 people a year in Japan.

When I was a child (around 7)walking barefooted, I stepped on a nest of ground wasps.

Got stung about 7 or 8 times. Hurt like the dickens.

My grandmothers took me into the house and made a poultice of baking soda, and some other stuff, seemed to do the job pretty well.

There had to be more to this than a few wasp bites.

I’m sure that I’m not the only one here that has been attacked at a wasp nest without any ill effect beyond a bunch of sore bumps.
