President Barack Obama said on Monday that hes in favor of Washington, D.C., gaining statehood.
Im in D.C., so Im for it, he said to a room of mostly young, minority boys who were at the White House for Obamas My Brothers Keeper initiative. Folks in D.C. pay taxes like everybody else. They contribute to the overall well-being of the country like everybody else. They should be represented like everybody else.
Obama said hes supported the idea of statehood for D.C. for quite sometime but acknowledged that the politics of it would make it something difficult to move through Congress.
D.C. is the most liberal city in the U.S., according to a poll released by Gallup in January.

Guaranteed 2 RAT Senators, no thanks. They can be dissolved into Maryland, they will welcome the Rif Raft that inhabits DC.

Not only difficult, but unconstitutional. But when did the Constitution ever matter to the Barack Insane Obama? After all he was a "adjunct" constitutional professor.

Good Baraque; let’s make D.C. a state and then move the nation’s capitol out of that stinking swamp. We could carve out an uninhabitated corner of the geographical center and put it there.

Yeah, I think they should be GIVEN BACK TO VIRGINIA & MARYLAND.
It is not now and never was intended to be a state. It should be a part of an adjoining state. It would be best if it was returned and cut up along it's original lines and those areas returned to their respective states of Maryland and Virginia from where it came.
The City itself should be eliminated.

“Yeah, I think they should be GIVEN BACK TO VIRGINIA & MARYLAND....”
****************************************************************************************
I think that Virginia already got its part (or at least most of it) back. The remaining amount should be given back to Maryland. Maryland can’t be made any worse than it already is.
Come to think of it, but I think most of Virginia’s citizens would be well served if the part of Virginia that was formerly in the District was also given to Maryland.

Lebanon, Kansas. The geographic center of the United States would be a great location. Only 212 people there now. Could be bought out for less than an hours U.S. Spending.. Could put a couple buildings for the Senate, House, POTUS and Courts. All limited to one secretary and the ability to meet every August for four weeks in buildings NOT air conditioned.

2 more socialist Senators, 1 more Marxist congressman. Perhaps just as bad, we'd also have a capitol *state*. One with no state law at all, just the U.S. Code. One with no state courts, just federal courts. You can see where this leads.
