Russia dismisses accusations Ukrainian separatists shot down Flight MH17 [it's not their fault]

Russia’s Defence Ministry dismissed accusations on Monday that pro-Russia separatists in Ukraine’s east were at fault for shooting down a Malaysia Airlines jet last week, alleging instead that Ukrainian warplanes had been flying close to the plane.

The ministry also denied accusations that Russia had supplied the separatists with SA-11 Buk anti-aircraft missile systems – which are known as “Gadfly” in NATO – or “any other weapons.”

“Russian air space control systems detected a Ukrainian Air Force plane, presumably an SU-25 (fighter jet), scrambling in the direction of the Malaysian Boeing,” Lieutenant-General Igor Makushev of Russia’s Air Forces told a news briefing. “The distance of the SU-25 plane from the Boeing was from 3 to 5 kilometres (2 to 3 miles).”

The ministry’s comments came as the Netherlands announced that prosecutors had opened an investigation into the crash of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17, which claimed the lives of all 298 people on board, 193 of whom were Dutch citizens

I found it interesting....especially the satillite images and graphs. Certainly raises some more interesting questions about the plane, the planes flight path...and the other planes in the same vicinity...as well as who is on the ground.

I suspect in doing so you will find interesting “Up to date” information which might help you to draw clearer conclusions....I prefer to wait til the evidence is ‘fully’ there to compare with all sources who present their take, before determining who pulled the trigger that took down the plane.

Who knows...might prove ‘none’ of those busy blaming each other took the shot.

Do you truly believe that ‘any parties’ in this entire Ukraine mess can be trusted as reliable?.... They’re all going to dodge and swerve at anything which even might implicate them....it’s how it’s done in every war and every conflict when the unexpected occurs such as this plane crash....and even those who are brought down without being in a war zone.
The US has done it and so have other nations in the past. But it’s always the same game played of “who done it”.

In this situation you have many moving parties and separate conflicts occurring under one Ukrainian roof....with outside elements trying to lay claim equally as much.

As in any war the media and those reporting, from journalists to owners will be biased in how they present the evidence. You seem to blame Russia because it has a propaganda machine operating in this theater .......yet are blind to the fact the rest of the nations too have theirs if full operating mode.

Heck the Palestinians are showing Israeli soldiers stomping on toddlers..... but few that would believe that except those opposed to anything Israel does....and we know who they are.

Common sense and understanding the actors is a good thing.

Yes, that is precisely what I am saying. You are talking about a site that is in the middle of a war zone. Reading too much into random communique from interested parties won't allow you to jump to conclusions with greater accuracy. Contrary to what you might think, this is not an episode of CSI. We do not know who shot down that plane and, if it was intentional, we certainly don't know why.
