On ABC's "This Week" on Sunday, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, who happens to be black, suggested that opposition to him and President Barack Obama in part is due to racial animus. For that, he has been vilified.
He has been accused of trying to scare people to the polls (as if listening to the evening news wouldn't already do that), stoking racial divisions and throwing down the race card. And he is asked rhetorically "is it possible to oppose Obama and not be a racist?"
The response to the attorney general's words has been very heated, and there is an obvious explanation.
"This Week" allowed many whites to hear what a black man is thinking about race. Most whites don't know because most whites don't have interracial conversations about race. To be fair, neither do most blacks. It's just that we know what other blacks are thinking because, well, we talk to other blacks about race.

The only reason that anyone would question the Word of Our Glorious Leader is racism. That is the only reason.
EXACTLY!
You, and I, are products of our culture-not our pigmentation.
If your culture values education, you get educated. If your culture values getting “over on the man”, then you will get over on the man.
Most whites dont have interracial conversations about race because they fear being pilloried as racists by those they have dared to disagree with. They have good reason to suspect that brainwashed minorities and guilt-ridden and politically correct whites are not reasonable people.
It’s easy to deal with. I tell white liberals and even conservatives that Martin Luther King is turning over in his grave because many people care more about the color of one’s skin than the content of their character.
So to summarize this bit of emotional drivel...if you are white, you simply don’t understand because you are either a racist or have no conception or understanding regarding the depth that is the black mind. This coming from a woman who claims to truly understands everything there is to know about white people because after all she is black and a professor. Excuse me? I wonder if the colors were reversed if the argument still holds. Aah...of course not. That would simply be racist as well. Regardless of the coin flip, whitey still deserves to lose. Got it.
And backing up her circuitous argument is the case of Congressman Wilson who called President Obama a liar. To her is is one more example of the evil that lurks in the white heart. Ah...Professor Brown, it hate to bust your bubble but Congressman Wilson was correct. Obama is a liar. Most people didn’t get to keep their health insurance or doctor. A video was not the cause of the massacre in Benghazi. Our southern borders are not secured. Have you forgotten those promises and others or do you simply worship this fool because the color of his skin matches yours?
The two things this article goes to prove is racism is still very much alive in the black community as well as in others and simply because you have the title of Professor does not indicate your level of intellect.
One thing is for sure, I pity this woman’s students who I will bet have to parrot her ignorant bigotry to pass her courses. Hang in their people, this fool’s ramblings do not represent the real world.
Exactly.
I have no doubt Ms. Brown is right about one thing: black people talk about race all the time. I overhear my black coworkers talking about race all the time. But that’s the problem.
The ideas they have about race relations all ultimately reduce to: we know there’s rampant racism in this country. All we have to do is find examples of it.
And “find” examples they do; the problem is the examples are all in their head.
Since Holder and Zero hate our way of life we can only assume that due to their racist viewpoints that they simply hate white people.
Obama and Holder are biracial.
Most whites do not have conversations about race because we are not racists. We are too busy working and caring for our children to have time to entertain such hatreds. The consequence of all this is that whites are going to start thinking about it once more and it will become an issue once more in our communities.
Obama’s election and re-election have accomplished what Obama said he wanted, but didn’t really want: the ushering in of a post-racial America. With the exception of die-hard progressives, the vast majority of non-black Americans no longer care about the “civil rights movement,” not because they are racists, but because there are no barriers left: we’ve had a “black” President, “black” Cabinet officials, SC justices, Senators, Congresspeople, medical doctors, academic doctors, lawyers, CEOs, CFOs, star athletes in every sport, star entertainers in every medium. The result is that Holder et al have stopped sounding like people who are pleading for opportunity rights, and have started sounding like people who are whining for success entitlement, and the American people can tell the difference.
There’s also one other aspect, which FReepers may lament (I do), but which has its own unintended consequence. The American public has “moved on” from black-civil-rights to LGBT-civil-rights, and the rights issues of the day no longer are racial but sexual. That sexual activity is a choice and race is not is irrelevant in the public mind: people, in the public mind, are supposedly “born [fill in the sexual blank]” and therefore in the public mind deserve the same opportunity rights regardless of sexual orientation. Racial civil rights are so 20th century; the New Crusade is LGBT, and Holder’s complaints are just an old man’s anachronistic whining, to the public.
I agree. Also what the left calls a dialogue is actually a monologue.
I oppose hussein’s white side.
What she has said amounts to: “Black people are inferior, because they cannot look at things objectively, but reflexively assume race is a factor.”
For her to demand dialogue, is essentially demanding that truth must take the opinions of liars into consideration, while giving lies moral equivalency to the truth.
This is a technique found among many groups of the left.
An illustration is when a black woman is jaywalking. A policeman sees her and says, “Hey, stop jaywalking!”, and the black woman responds, “Why is everything about race!”
The issue is not about race. It has nothing to do with race, outside of the “everything is about race” mindset of such people.
There is little or no legitimacy to their paranoia. Holder is a bad, corrupt, ineffective lawbreaker. Those are his issues, not his race. So almost any time he mentions race, it is because he has been caught breaking the law or misusing his office.
If the GOP had any sense, this would be their campaign slogan going forward.
bttt
he’s just upset because he’s a pedophile
what? you say I have no evidence of that? what’s that got to do with anything?
obviously, if he doesn’t agree with conservatives, he must be a pedophile
I’ll startcaring how they feel when they start caring what I think.
The Red Cross now uses the date of 1977 for the start (banning "men who have sex with men" if they have done so since 1977, from donating blood), but I ran across a newspaper story about a black teenager in St. Louis who died from it in the late 1960s. The doctors were mystified about his illness, and he was uncommunicative, so they saved a sample of his blood, and when the AIDS epidemic exploded they had it tested and found that he had had AIDS.
Attorney-General Holder: the bank just called. Your race card is overdrawn. SERIOUSLY overdrawn. . .
This is just reverting to form, folks.
When losing an argument or prestige or anything, racism is blamed.
And the media sucks it up...they love to amplify the lie.
