The Maintenance Guy(Bless His heart!) came all the way from Lake Worth, a distance of over 40 miles, to get my power back on. The A/C, however, is shot and we had to turn it off. Then he went to the maintenance room and schlepped a portable A/C unit (that bears a startling resemblance to the Robot in “Lost In Space”), up the 15 steps to my apartment and hooked it up.

The exhaust of the aforementioned behemoth had to go out the sliders to the balcony, which left me with an open door into the night. he was very concerned about my safety, and i told him I was “Trained and practiced”. He grinned and said “Good Girl!” and turned on the ancient machine which sounded like a Saturn V Rocket leaving the Launch Platform.

Today they will hopefully come and fix the A/C, or (Please God!) give me a new one which will help on the electric bills.

In the meantime, the ZOT that went through the system KILLED my cable box.

So now I have to call them too.

Howdy, John! (((hugs))) Hope your wish for cooler weather
comes true!

It’s wonderfully cool and cloudy here right now. I would love
for it to last, but it’s supposed to be in the mid-90s this
afternoon. Won’t complain. At this time of the year it could
be over 100! :)

You can whine to me any time you like! ;-)

I’m curious. Did they do full surgery on your shoulder where they cut your shoulder open? The reason I ask is that Mrs. spel had arthroscopic surgery. Just one small hole in the front of her shoulder and one small hole in the back of her shoulder for the camera to view inside. If you had full surgery then the arthroscopic surgery on her shoulder may account for her quick recovery and the inverse for why your recovery has been so slow.

I have gotten away from Microsoft Outlook. There have been many problems with Outlook, what with Microsoft changing from Outlook Express, then to Windows Live Mail and now to Outlook.com. I now use Mozilla Thunderbird. It is almost exactly like Outlook as far as operation is concerned. The only difference that I can see is that the graphics interface ‘looks’ different.

Even if your mom stays with Outlook, is it relatively easy to ‘convert’ from Alaska.com to Alaskan.com. You can tell Outlook to automatically put outgoing and incoming email addresses in the address book.

Anyway, good luck with your mom. Do not pay attention to my attempts at humor. ;-)

I also had arthoscopic surgery and there were two tears in my
rotator cuff that were caused when I tripped at work and
tried to catch myself by grabbing the counter. Wrong move!

I had the accident in July. I wrangled with the insurance
company that eventually denied my claim (my company settled
with me later) and didn’t have the surgery till October. I
think if they hadn’t been so slow to act and had done an
MRI first thing, I would have healed faster too.

That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it. :)

I’m so glad that the Boss healed so quickly. I found out
during this ordeal that shoulder surgery is one of the
slowest to recover from, and now I know that first hand.

I am getting way better than I was right after the surgery,
but I keep going to keep loosened up so it won’t get stiff.

Just to make a short story long. LOL! (((hugs)))

Heating up here, too. The breeze coming through the open doors is still nicer than AC, though. For the moment!
