Voting Totals Show How Blacks Helped Cochran to Victory

Sen. Thad Cochran's victory over state Sen. Chris McDaniel in the Mississippi GOP runoff can most likely be attributed to the African American and Democratic turnout, The New York Times reported.

Cochran defeated McDaniel by 7,667 votes in a June 24 GOP runoff. About half of those votes came from heavily Democratic precincts. An analysis of 25 Mississippi precincts where President Barack Obama won at least 99 percent of the vote in 2012 showed that Cochran's vote total increased from 148 to 1,619.

Obama voters who took part in the runoff backed Cochran 20 to 1.

"The data strongly suggests that higher black and Democratic turnout covered the entirety of Mr. Cochran's margin of victory," Nate Cohn and Derek Willis of the Times wrote.

The matter now hinges on a federal lawsuit to allow McDaniel supporters to complete the review of the ballot materials.

This provides many avenues for the Mc Daniel campaign to sue and challenge the current outcome of the GOP runoff.

First. Challenge the votes of all those who might have voted in both a Democratic Primary and the GOP runoff. All the votes by people that voted in both the Dem primary and the GOP runoff should be subtracted from Cochran.

We know the data proves that former Obama voters when with Cochran at a rate of 20 to 1 and therefore those votes need to be subtracted from Cochran’s vote total.

Second, the GOP needs to conduct Background Checks on all the blacks and other Democrats that voted in the GOP runoff. Are all of these people to determine if they are eligible to vote. Many may have felony convictions or may not be living at the address specified on their driver’s license or Voter Card.

Thanks for sharing this.

It's a travesty what the GOP-e did in this race. If I hear one more idiotic commentator try and suggest that "Thad Cochran brought blacks in the GOP coalition" I am going to vomit.

Thad Cochran did not make blacks want to support Republican/conservative principles. Thad Cochran, well really his handlers, reinforced false stereotypes that conservatives are racist, hateful people. And Thad Cochran riled up Democrat voters that unless they voted for him they'd lose all their federal government handouts. Again, further UNDERMINING Republican/conservative principles.

I sure do hope and pray that McDaniel's lawyers can force another election. I was there in Mississippi during the Runoff election and would love to go back again and make sure every single Republican voter understood that there is ONLY ONE legit Republican candidate in that race and his name is Chris McDaniel. The other guy who has an (R) after his name was telling voters that he'd make sure Obama's agenda wasn't blocked.

If McDaniel were to win the lawsuit, will he be reimbursed for the campaign money that he unnecessarily spent and will his supporters be reimbursed?

The issue isn’t what color the voters were.

The issue for me is they were propagandized, race-baited and lied to to get them to vote. The next is that they were not eligible. The third is that the Ratlickins who were paying for this show were hiding their shenanigans, destroying evidence, ad nauseum.

If they were honestly reaching out to black voters, and had attracted them on that basis, I would have thought McDaniel was better than Thad, but that the Ratlickins were better salesfolks.

But now I think a septic tank smells like magnolias compared to them.

It’s this simple, Cochran had to enlist the support of the Democrat Party because the Republican voters had rejected him, this was done with the blessing of the RNC, if the will of Miss. Republicans (good or bad) can pushed aside by the RNC like this then there’s no need to vote Rep. anymore since there is no Rep. choice anymore...
Bottom line-if this travesty is not redressed I’m THROUGH with what has become of the GOP, why waste money and support to benefit our RNC masters while they make a mockery of the electoral process when it suits them? I know I’m only one person with very, very little power, but someone has to say “No more!”...

I am starting to feel better about this betrayal of Chris McDaniel that some good conservative outlets are following the story.

However, I am disappointed in Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin...
