“Burning Down the House” is probably stretching the rules, But I love it. Have tried to write a “Burning the Reichstag” parody several times.
Whatever it was about, it was a good song. It brings back fond memories of years gone by.

I saw Mother’s Finest at club on Nebraska Ave in Tampa before they made it to the semi big time. Back in the early 70s we would start at the north side and drink our way south.

Hey Fatima...:)
Chariot of Fire comes from the William Blake poem “Jerusalem” which is being sung in an early scene of “Chariots of Fire” The one in which the boys choir is singing it at the memorial to Harold Abrahams.
And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon England’s mountains green?
And was the holy Lamb of God
On England’s pleasant pastures seen?
And did the Countenance Divine
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here
Among these dark satanic mills?
Bring me my bow of burning gold!
Bring me my arrows of desire!
Bring me my spear! O clouds, unfold!
Bring me my chariot of fire!
I will not cease from mental fight,
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand,
Till we have built Jerusalem
In England’s green and pleasant land
The term in turn comes from the Bible, I think in Isiah.
Then of course there is the theme song by Vangelis.
As much as I can’t stand him, that was a spell binder.

Saw them in ‘81 at the Hollywood Sportatorium...bought a t-shirt...my mother thought I’d joined a freak religious group...that t-shirt never made it through the first wash...which is more than I can say about my Kiss Alive II 8-track...God bless Mom, she meant well. We laugh about it today.
