JERUSALEM The call came to the cellphone of his brothers wife, Salah Kaware said Tuesday. Mr. Kaware lives in Khan Younis, in southeast Gaza, and the caller said that everyone in the house must leave within five minutes, because it was going to be bombed.
A further warning came as the occupants were leaving, he said in a telephone interview, when an Israeli drone apparently fired a flare at the roof of the three-story home. Our neighbors came in to form a human shield, he said, with some even going to the roof to try to prevent a bombing. Others were in the stairway when the house was bombed not long afterward.
Seven people died, Mr. Kaware said, a figure also stated by the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza, which also said that 25 people were wounded. The Israeli military said that targeted houses belonged to Hamas members involved in launching rockets or other military activity, and that they had been used as operations rooms.
But the events on Tuesday were another example of a contentious Israeli policy in which occupants of a building about to be bombed or shelled are given a brief warning in Arabic to evacuate. The Israelis have used such telephone calls and leaflets for years now, in a stated effort to reduce civilian casualties and avoid charges of indiscriminate killings or even of crimes against the rules of war

Well, it's the New York Times, so no warning short of a month would be enough. Wonder if their proofreader missed this.

The warning was adequate, it gave the fake civilians time to enter the house, they could have left. And they were voluntarily aiding a terror group to repel an attack, in this case by attempting to act as human shields. IMO, they're combatants.
What do they want the Israelis to do? Send them a Candy Gram.
You can't reason with muzzies.
If Gaza wasn’t so close to Israel...I’d say “Nuke Gaza” to Israel. The terrorism towards Israel would stop immediately

How much warning do the Palestinian terrorists give the Israelis when they explode suicide bombs?
And yet here the NYTimes does it’s best to be even handed and fair to Israel. As if...
The New York Time is just another disgusting Jew hater organization.
The HAMAS Palestinkians (as with their terrorist brethren in Afghanistan and Iraq) habitually embed themselves within civilian populations (not-so-innocent civilians as they share the extremist views of HAMAS) so the onus for civilian deaths is on all the Palestinkians, both the cowards of HAMAS and the civilians who ignore Israel’s fair warnings.
Lets see- phone call-we are going to bomb-OK human shield time—Yes ! definitely candidates for the Darwins Award
Gaza...How long would it take if they simply leveled a village or city a day?
They can’t make the civilians, who are as extremist as HAMAS, leave before bombings. There is nothing else they can do except not attack, which of course is what their critics and HAMAS want.
Stop warning them. Just Attack and destroy. Defense of your people and nation is not a nice gentlemanly cricket match, for goodness’ sakes!!! Creepers!
Imagine Muslim terrorists warning the other side about roadside bombs, missiles, and suicide attacks...not in this lifetime. Israel has given the Hamas so much warning and respect. Hamas has given Israel hatred and bigotry
Several Israeli options come to mind. 1. bulldozers to make a nice 25 mile buffer zone 2: Nuclear bulldozer plus nice night light for a few million years.
Doesn't Israel understand psychology? They know the 1949 Geneva Convention (the one that Israel accepts) does not preclude carpet bombing either.
And you can't reason with Soros backed group such as Human Rights Watch.
Fatah is the same way. (Fatah = conquest; Hamas = violence.)
This (and the problems we’re having with Northern Mexico) is why God invented napalm.
