Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said Wednesday that while the majority of people in his state approve of his support for comprehensive immigration reform which includes a pathway to citizenship, those who oppose it have dubbed him Amnesty John.
The 30 percent view [illegal immigration] as the compelling and only and most emotional issue to them, McCain said. Theyre the ones who come to my town hall meetings and call me Amnesty John.
McCain was one of the Gang of Eight in the Senate to sponsor the Border Security, Economic Opportunity and Immigration Modernization Bill, or S.744. The Senate passed the billwhich called for a pathway to citizenship for certain illegal aliensin June 2013, but the House has not taken it up or alternative immigration legislation this term.

If the shoe fits scumbag!
And STILL not mr president
Should tell him mr amnesty doesn’t work for republicans. Too late in life to switch parties officially, but that’s just the confused nature of his whole life from flunking around at Annapolis
He’s actually proud of it.
They call me “Amnesty John”, or azzhole for short.
Why do good people leave us so soon, while others just go on and on.
Ha. Beat me to it.
My thoughts exactly.
How about a “dirty john”.
Theyre the ones who come to my town hall meetings and call me Amnesty John.
That’s just ‘cause they want to be polite - normally they call you RINO or DICKHEAD.
Only 30% of Zonies are against reform? Are you dyslexic Mr McCain?
Don’t worry John. I don’t call you that. I still call you Keating Five John.
I can’t write what I call him for fear of being banned.

GANG OF EIGHT REPUBLICANS JOIN SENATE DEMS TO KILL BORDER SECURITY FENCE
Sens. Marco Rubio (R-FL), John McCain (R-AZ), Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Jeff Flake (R-AZ), the four Gang of Eight GOP senators, joined Senate Democrats on Tuesday to kill an amendment to their immigration bill that would have required a double-layered fence to be built along the U.S. border with Mexico.
Sen. John McCain is the least popular senator in the country of those surveyed by Public Policy Polling, with low marks from members of his own party, independents and Democrats.
Just 30 percent of Arizona voters approve of the job the Republican senator is doing, while 54 percent disapprove, according to a PPP release Thursday. That is the worst of any senators polling in the nation that PPP has found.
Juan.
How dare they call John McKeating “Amnesty John.”
There was a reason Hanoi John was treated better by the North Vietnamese than his fellow POWs...and it wasn’t because of his admiral dad...
