Louisiana spent about $1.3 million on food stamps for people who were already dead between July 1, 2009 and June 30, 2013, according to a report issued by the Louisiana Legislative Auditor Monday (July 7).

In all, state benefits went out to 3,938 deceased people over the four-year period examined by the auditor. The Louisiana auditor only reviewed records concerning single people who had died. The total amount of money spent on food stamps for single people in Louisiana during this time was $1.08 billion.

The Good News about this is that the Bobby Jindal Administration finally caught this. This would still be going on if we had Democrat (DemonRat) as governor...

Also, and importantly, those who received benefits and failed to notify DCFS will have to pay back the amount of benefits received.

If Bobby Jindal was not Governor, those folks would have been forgiven for stealing from the government.

They justified their budget,
they “transferred wealth” to the scammers,
and they made themselves feel good about themselves for “caring”.

No downside, if you’re a lib.

I am sure LA is not unique. Every state should do a similar check.

Louisiana/DCFS (Dept of Children/Family Services) recently threw the Director of Auditing (for DCFS) and two other DCFS auditors for stealing from Louisiana/DCFS.

I guess they replace those thiefs/clowns with someone willing to work and uncover fraud...

Again, credit Jindal and his folks.

There were three bad apples, but they found them, and now there is some action about fraud with food stamps...

Except Jindal is making those who did this pay back the money they stole.

You might have heard about the folks in North Louisiana who went out of Walmart with shopping carts full of groceries during the government shutdown.

Basically, a government worker in Louisiana raised the limit to zero since the food stamps were shut down.

Those people who stole food must now pay back the state of Louisiana.

They can be denied food stamps or have food stamp benefit deducted until that is paid back...

Except The Jindal Aministration is closing this loophole to check for deaths and remove people from the food stamp rolls.

This is why the Judge in New Orleans goofed up today by giving Ray Nagin such a light sentence.

Ray Nagin should have been given the maximum sentence.

He was convicted of 20 of 21 counts of fraud and corruption.

[Color Orange as this is what Ray will be wearing]:

Sometimes it is necessary for an example to be made of a person so that other people know it is wrong to do what Ray Nagin did...

So, if the people were dead, who got the food stamps?

**3,938 deceased people over the four-year period examined by the auditor**

Why weren’t the books audited annually?

2 questions:

1. How many dead food stamp receivers are still voting?

2. How much kick back did the department that monitors this abuse get back from the relatives of the dead?

Just recently, the Director of Auditing for DCFS got thrown in jail for fraud/corruption.

Two other DCFS Auditors for DCFS also got thrown in jail for the same scheme.

Unfortunately, few people are hearing about THAT story.

But, apparently, Jindal (and the head of DCFS) has cracked the whip on auditors for DCFS.

When the Director of Auditing is a bad apple (busy de-frauding the government and not doing his job), that is bad...

I will try to find the articles on this...
