How can Israel have peace if it’s unwilling to delineate a border, end the occupation?’ asks White House Mideast chief, Phillip Gordon, in a blistering Tel Aviv speech.

Israel’s ongoing occupation of the West Bank is wrong and leads to regional instability and dehumanization of Palestinians, a top American government official said Tuesday in Tel Aviv, hinting that the current Israeli government is not committed to peace.

In an unusually harsh major foreign policy address, Philip Gordon, a special assistant to US President Barack Obama and the White House coordinator for the Middle East, appealed to Israeli and Palestinian leaders to make the compromises needed to reach a permanent peace agreement. Jerusalem “should not take for granted the opportunity to negotiate” such a treaty with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who has proven to be a reliable partner, Gordon said.

President Obama’s new National Security Council coordinator for the Middle East, North Africa and the Gulf does not have much experience with Israeli and Palestinian issues, but observers said the White House will instead benefit from his extensive inside-the-beltway skills.

bringing with him years of federal government experience and a decade in Washington’s think tank world. Like some of his predecessors, Gordon’s strengths lie more in his knowledge of Washington than his familiarity with the meeting rooms of Jerusalem and Ramallah.

While most of his scholarship has focused elsewhere, Gordon has over the years penned op-eds on Israeli and Palestinian issues. During the Israel-Lebanon war in 2006, Gordon wrote in the Washington Post and the Financial Times that Israel’s bombing campaign was ill advised, as was the United States’ backing for it.

So let me get this correct Obama wants Israel to accept the borders of 1967. Yet Israel was attacked and is attacked regularly from Gaza which Israel relunctantly ceded. so Israel is not to protect its borders. Just like the USA is not to protect its borders.

okay I live near Michigans border with Canada (Sault Ste Marie). There is not a week that goes by that someone has tried and at times achieves getting someone across the border. The individuals believe they are clear, do a u turn to go back to the last rest area before the border and every time they get busted with the person or persons getting out of the trunk or the area where the suitcases cover over the person. They are clear from the border to lower Michigan or can go to Wisconsin, Illinois or other points west.

Obama denies the sovereign borders of the US but wants the muslims to have no borders so they can kill a nation Israel.

US Congress 1939 records foreign Arab immigration into 'vacant land' of Palestine

The following is a remarkable speech given in 1939 by John William McCormack (1891 - 1980) of Massachusetts, Representative to the House, on a 'Jewish Homeland' in Palestine. Protesting harshly the British (White Papers) restriction on Jewish immigration while Arab immigration is allowed to flow. Citing the great approval by 5 presidents and an array of high officials all praising the great achievement done by the Jews in Palestine, uplifting and up-building the land. He notices the Arab immigration of at least 150,000 (equal to that of the Jews') from neighboring countries as well as an overall rise in Arab population (such as, an over 50% rise during 17 Years 1920-1937), all due to Jews' work in the "vacant land" of Palestine, that all of a sudden made it all attractive.
