CNS News ^ | 7-8-2014 | Penny Starr

“I happen to believe in [the] refugee program, not just because Jesus was a refugee -- because I was also myself a refugee,” said Negash, who was named to his post by the Obama administration in 2009. “Yes I was once described as an alien myself, if that’s a proper term to use,” Negash said.

That’s right. And when you think about it, Joseph didn’t ask anyone to pay his family’s way. He was a carpenter and lived by the sweat of his own brow.

That isn’t what is taking place today, not by a long shot.

I can point you to at least three high schools in downtown Los Angeles that are filled to the gills with the children of illegal aliens.

Cost of each school? $500 million dollars.

Think this set of people equate to Joseph? No way!

Rhetorical question..., you know this, but it irks me none the less.

It says in the Book of Mark that no one, neither the angels nor Jesus, know the time The Father will arrive, so I honestly do expect a thunderous zap out of the blue that fricassees one of these heathens in full view one day soon. I’d label it ‘A preview of coming attractions’. I’m one who thinks that the Lord has a sense of cosmic humor about that.

King Herod, who commanded all newborn Hebrew males to be killed.

All males 2 years old and less in and around Bethlehem.

Yes, Jesus and His parents were “refugees” when they went to Egypt to escape Herod’s attempt to murder Him as an infant.

However, there is no evidence that Jesus and His family entered Egypt illegally or that they violated any laws.

In other words, this “refugee” thing is completely irrelevant to what is happening at the border today.

Many historians claim this is not true, but AFAIK none has ever claimed Herod would never have done such a thing.

I’ve got an athiest, pagan, liberal, progressive relative who plays the “Jesus” card often. She also pulled the “Hitler was a Christian” game.

Hitler was not only an atheist, he was also a vegan.

I’ve heard about disagreements concerning the particulars. Some doubt the Magi ever journeyed to Him, or even existed themselves. I was raised that Herod ordered the death of all the babies, but later learned it was babes and small children.

KJV:

Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men.

I responded with a “Daily Mail” article from 2006 about Hitler’s “revised” Bible which removed references to the Israelites.

It included a comment about how Hitler and Himmler dreamed of ruling a Pagan Society.

She didn’t respond, how strange.

And Jesus did not go into Egypt illegally.
