A Minneapolis night clubs dress code aimed at forcing patrons to dress presentably is being attacked as racist by people who apparently think being black means dressing like a slob.
barlouiednewcode0708According to Minneapolis Fox affiliate KSMP, the nightclub Bar Louie has posted a sign barring customers in flat bill hats, long plain white T-shirts, excessively baggy clothing or sporting large chains.
That struck some observers as basically barring blacks.
If you do not want African-Americans to frequent your establishment, then maybe you should just say that and not just break it down to the dress code, one man told the station in an interview.
(The dress code sign doesnt specify that its meant to apply to men only, but thats the likely intent. Women in nightclubs rarely wear excessively baggy clothing anyway.)
Resident Michelle Horovitz, a white woman who apparently has a big, white liberal chip on her shoulder, called the dress code ridiculous.
Might as well just say, No black folks allowed, she said. Its ridiculous.
Minnesota might be the nicest, healthiest, cleanest state in America, but we have huge issues as far as segregation, racism, systematic oppression and people want to look the other way, Horovitz said. This is not OK, and were not going to patronize you if you dont change your policy.
Well, Michelle, this being America and all, anyone who doesnt want to dress in a way that satisfies the clubs code is perfectly free not to patronize Bar Louie. In fact, theyre being specifically asked not to patronize it. So what exactly is the harm here?
And while liberal outlets like the Huffington Post have jumped on the story, according to most of the reaction on Twitter, the club is just asking patrons to dress like adults.

No Amish allowed.

It sounds like they’re trying to keep Justin Beiber out.
One of the underlying foundations of a society is acting civil. A fundamental portion of civility is a persons manner of dress and being human means to desire to aspire. Animals have no wish to better themselves. They do not compete nor do they reward exeptional behaviour. Mankind has no equal on this planet and we dare to better ourselves. Debasing oneself is and always should be met with contempt.
Unfortunately, this is not always the case.
They should have included those ridiculous Dick Tracy suits, as well.
SO I guess MOM JEANS wearing Barack Obama might be excluded......
Liberals believe blacks are incapable of dressing decently, or controlling themselves in general.
Works for me ...
Prohibit the playing of rap and hip hop and they will keep themselves out.
Nor Andalusian cowboys.
The banned style of dress is worn by black, white, Asian, and Latin hoodlums.
The cutting edge look, at least in New York's urban neighborhoods, is sport jackets with colorful and mismatched shirts, ties, shoes, and pocket squares - the look that Russell Westbrook, Lebron James, Kanye West and other "icons of the community" are wearing.
Resident Michelle Horovitz.... hahahahahahahahaahaahhhaaaaahahahahhaaaahhhh.... whoa...hahhhahaaaahhahaaaaahhahahhaaaaa....oh.
I don’t know when this broke down, but I recall a time when black folks dressed to the nines when they went out to clubs.
If you don’t play hip hop at a club, no one will show up.
LOL!

I’ll bet African Americans are welcome there!
It’s just the “___” they’re trying to keep out.
Chris Rock knows what I’m talkin’ ‘bout...

They still do. The definition of “the nines” has changed, of course.
It has been so long that I was in a night club that I wouldn’t know.
Minneapolis is being overrun with nonassimulating Muslim Somalis including Somali youth gangs.
Dress codes will be the least of their worries. Muzzies believe that bars & alcohol should not even be allowed to exist.
Minneapolis & Mogadishu will soon have much in common.
Is it just this one bar? I ask because Bar Louie is a franchise, so it may be that they have this dress code at all their locations. If so, I will have to stop by one in my area now that I know and give them some business.
