President Barack Obama has offered to meet Texas Governor Rick Perry to discuss the border crisis during a visit to Texas after the governor declined a brief meeting when the president arrives in Austin, the White House confirmed on Tuesday.
"The president would welcome a meeting with you while he is in Texas," White House aide Valerie Jarrett wrote to Perry.
Jarrett also invited Perry to participate in a session to discuss the border situation with local faith leaders and elected officials in Dallas on Wednesday that has been added to president's schedule. Jarrett's letter, dated Monday, was first reported by the Austin American-Statesman newspaper.
Perry had declined an offer to greet Obama when he arrives in Austin, the paper said, citing a letter from the governor to the president. Obama is set to start his Texas trip on Wednesday.
"A quick handshake on the tarmac will not allow for a thoughtful discussion regarding the humanitarian and national security crises enveloping the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas," Perry wrote. He said he would prefer a "substantive meeting" to discuss the issue and would alter his schedule to accommodate the request.

Don’t do it, Rick. Weird/funny things happen to people that “meet” with Barack Hussein Obama. Boehner met with and had lunch and a golf game with him and Boehner hasn’t been the same since. He came back a different, and very wussy, person. Just sayin....

I don't think he should. His original response to the White House basically said, "I'm to busy dealing with the border to waste time greeting you at the airport." This request is Obama admitting that maybe he should start paying attention to the issue. By accepting the meeting Perry's reinforcing the fact that he was right from the beginning and Obama was wrong.
Who the hell is Valerie Jarrett that she should be setting up meetings between the US President and the Governor of one of the states of the US? She’s a real estate agent. They can’t even send out a letter with Obama’s stamped signature? What the hell is he good for? Hitting golf balls? We are governed by greedy, vengeful ten year old Democrats.
He refused personal service of a Notice for Assistance from the Executive of the State because of the trespassing nationals.

Obama shows up in Texas uninvited for a fund raiser. Then “invites” Perry to meet with him and a bunch of left wing preachers in Dallas. Oh, how I wish Perry would call out the guard this morning and tell Obama “Due to the emergency crisis in Texas Obama’s plane will not be permitted to land out of safety concerns for the president.”
I pray God sends his angels to protect Rick Perry and all of his staff when they meet with the mad man OBAMA..the son of satin is on the loose so beware fellow Christians the devil is coming back to our state..
Kabuki theater is all this is. Perry needed to call out the National Guard. He hasn’t so this is just more Kabuki theater.

The only reason Alib0ma is meeting with Perry is political pressure not because he sees the need to do so.
Obama grandstanding. He knows he won’t take the time to do more than a photo op with Perry should he agree to meet, and if they did meet for a true sit down discussion on the matter it would be Obama in your face cramming his index finger in Perry’s chest as he told Perry how it IS going to be.

Perry should take action first, deploy national guard and/or law enforcement and/or for border control posse, THEN meet with obozo aka president useless.

Yes, that’s how I read it. IMHO, he’s somewhat setting up a trap of sorts for Perry - all attending will be pro-amnesty. I was thinking that maybe Perry should invite Rep. Gohmert and Sen. Cruz and TX Atty Gen Abbott (the next Gov from the great state of Texas) to attend the meeting with him; but, in further thought, perhaps that’s not a great idea. While I know that they could make the case for stopping the madness, I suspect that Obummer, the faith leaders and the LSM will paint them as heartless, against the poor, against women and children, blah, blah - you all know the standard lines.
