House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) reportedly told President Barack Obama that there would be a good chance of passing a comprehensive amnesty bill in the next Congress, which the GOP may control.
On June 24, when Boehner told Obama there would not be a vote on amnesty legislation this year, he reportedly told him "that he believed there was a good chance a comprehensive bill could pass in the next Congress."
According to a National Journal report, Obama, when meeting with pro-amnesty advocates last week to inform them that he would be pressing ahead with executive actions to ease deportations, said that "Boehner urged him not to press ahead with executive action because that would make legislating more difficult next year."
Asked about the report, Michael Steel, a spokesman for Boehner, said Speaker Boehner told the President exactly what he has been telling him: the American people and their elected officials don't trust him to enforce the law as written. Until that changes, it is going to be difficult to make progress on this issue.
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), who championed the Senate's amnesty bill last year, has said Republicans in the Senate would "absolutely" try again to push amnesty legislation, which the Congressional Budget Office determined would lower the wages of American workers, if Republicans win back the Senate.
Boehner has reportedly said he was hell-bent on passing amnesty legislation this year, and Valerie Jarrett, Obama's top White House adviser, said the White House had "a commitment" from Boehner on amnesty legislation before immediately walking back remarks that may have been lost in translation. Boehner, who has hired Sen. John McCain's (R-AZ) top immigration adviser to help him with a bill, denied he ever gave the White House a commitment.

And why would chances get any better than they were in 2013?
What?!? This doesn’t make any sense to me. Is Boehner planning on big “R” losses in the House, but keeping just enough seats for the “R’s” to maintain control?
With talk like this, I hope it hastens the others to boot his behind from the Speaker’s office in January.
Boehner you are part of the problem.
Get out of the way.
Boehner files a lawsuit against Obama then says there’s a good chance that amnesty will pass. Just drop the act Boehner and stop filing false lawsuits to make it look like someone is trying to stop the lyin’ king and go ahead and hump his leg. We know you want to.
I'm against the left's usurpation of many english words, but still, they've managed to change many words for the worse.
"Progress" is like chalk streaking on a blackboard to me. It usually comes from a traveler, or in this case, a spokesidiot traveler of a fellow traveler.
The problem is the HOR “conservatives” are not trustworthy. If they were, Boehner would’ve been booted out as Speaker for the current session.
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), who championed the Senate’s amnesty bill last year, has said Republicans in the Senate would “absolutely” try again to push amnesty legislation, which the Congressional Budget Office determined would lower the wages of American workers, if Republicans win back the Senate.
Notice they are so brazen now they don’t even try to call it immigration reform anymore. It is an amnesty bill. Burn in hell Boner.
First of all, I am sick and tired of the word “comprehensive”. Not sure why it absolutely has to be comprehensive. secondly, unless the final bill ends the welfare state, there can be no compromising.
Hey, let’s play the same game they play against us. Let’s promise that we’ll push an amnesty bill next year if we have a Republican House and Senate... Then once we get that, it’s “no way we’re going to allow you guys to do that!”
I can’t believe that Boehner is that stupid. He must be shining Obama on about it.
More Mehhiccans!!
MORE MEHHICCANS!!!
........And howsabout a nice Civil War while we’re at it???
I thought the idiot Boehner was going to sue odumbo? What ever happened to that?
I’d bet that any Immigration Reform bill would be more in line with America’s values if Harry Reid didn’t control the Senate when that bill was debated.
I could support a bill that:
First, built a security fence
Second, strictly enforced a no-illegal-crossing policy.
Third, required e-verification of every worker’s “legal status”.
Fourth, speedily deported any criminal who was ALSO an illegal immigrant. Note: No mass round-ups authorized.
Fifth, processed all “asylum-seekers” in GITMO. Note: “Economic refugees” may NOT claim a “right” of asylum.
Sixth: All legitimate “asylem-seekers” would be settled in America’s worst communities: Detroit. Chicago’s South Side. Etc.
Seventh: After 10 years as registered aliens, aliens may START process of becoming naturalized citizens.
The Constitution is the result of a delegation of limited powers and authority from the people and the states to the U.S Federal Government. The House has the Constitutional authority to indict (impeach) a corrupt federal officer. The Senate has the Constitutional authority to try a corrupt federal officer after indictment (impeachment) by the House. After the Senate holds a trial, it has authority to vote for conviction or not.
The House does not have Constitutional authority to try a corrupt federal officer. The House cannot piggyback on plaintiffs who have a case and controversy against the President. The House will be dismissed for lack of standing, while other Plaintiffs with a case and controversy against the President can proceed.
This is a stunt to allow Obama to finish his term.
Obama's working on fixing THAT as we speak as he aids and abets the illegal alien invasion.
All from a man who got hoisted as the majority whip under Gingrich.
We want to stop the illegal aliens, not encourage them...
John Boehner just another turd stirred up from the bottom of the Washington cesspool. His statements are no more valid then his butt buddy Oblabba.
