That's true. but we need to learn from the past, so we won't make the same mistakes all over again. Bush II evidently did not learn from LBJ's Vietnam mistakes. Because Bush repeated LBJ's Vietnam's mistakes in Afghanistan and Iraq.
And I say that with a very heavy heart. LBJ was a terrible, egotistical person, with few morals. Bush II is just the opposite.

Well, that’s it, He’s not talking, and yet, Carter and the Clintons can’t apparently shut up until they pass on from this life to the next. I’m actually thankful not to hear Bush commenting to the extent that Carter is.

Because he was some kind of veteran? I don’t know; northeasterners don’t do well in national elections, so either would probably have lost.
That I can agree with. At least Bush II had some etiquette to him. I get embarrassed with the kinds of manners and class I see from the Clintons and the Obamas. I mean really? How the heck can all three of these families be worth tons of money, yet somehow one of them has more manners than the others.

I know they won’t; Jersey City is adjacent to my town (packed with Muslims). We need to get them out of here first; they didn’t fly here from Saudi Arabia to smash the Twin Towers and Pentagon.
Lieberman was a decent debater. Your first assessment on wanting war veteran credentials may have had a point, but Kerry was boring as a debater, for starters, he had this awful habit of labeling specifics for groups of people he planned to serve. Bush and Lieberman have yet to demonstrate that kind of peeve. I’m not sure how much the whole Rathergate played out, but it certainly was over the top to begin with for me. I mean, isn’t saying that a guy served stateside enough to prove a point? Guess not.

Thanks for the pics. Although I don’t agree with everything Bush did, He was soooo way better than Obozo. Those pics are a definite reminder of that. A set of pics like that featuring Obama would show him chumming with Muzzies and gays instead of American soldiers. Oy
I agree with the Washington pretense, I feel he would be hardest on the case where the most responsibility is due. I do feel that he would be strong on prosecuting for 9/11. But he would have no problem making some moves to encourage the Saudis to crack down on al qaeda and jihadist groups within their own country. I also do feel that he wouldn’t be shooting for a prolonged occupation of Iraq, either.
The United States spoke positively about Iraq initially, with the reason being that Saddam was secular and more tolerant of nonchristian religions and an enemy of the Iranian regime, the very ones who revolted, and turned into a fundamentalist extremist regime. When the confirmations came through that Saddam was attacking other nations besides Iran neighboring him, and was pretty much performing mass killings of Kurds and others, and was a brutal dictator, opinion rapidly changed about him.
I agree very well that the extremists won’t leave us alone, it’s like thinking that the Nazis would simply have left the U.S. alone if we did nothing in the Atlantic or Europe, the demonstratable power makes the U.S. a target for power hungry ideologies, because they know that the number one challenge to them staying powerful as an empire is the risk of getting the United States ticked off.
Correction: I meant NonMuslim religions in the second paragraph.
Let’s face the facts, the terrorists aren’t much nicer. The reality of how we’ve handled our own nations traitors and miscreants shows pretty well that we’re nicer than they are too.

After their losses in 1984 and 1988, the Democratic Party seems to have decided they would never again nominate for President someone who was a decent human being. At least the last 6 elections would suggest that.
Perfect illustration of the difference between GWB and Obama is how they reacted to the Fort Hood shooting. Bush went on his own, quietly, with no publicity, and visited the soldiers who had been wounded in the attack who were in the hospital. Obama went there later for a photo-op and did not visit those who were wounded.
