My daughter's mom saw this movie today in Metrowest Boston.
She told me the theater was only about half full (5:30pm show), but here is what she texted me about it:
"You have to see it!! It will give u hope. Everyone cheered in the end, and I can't stop crying."
The per-screen average was $535 for Wednesday and Thursday, which compares with all of the other major releases, from #3 on down. #3/$869, #4/$803, etc.
In daily gross, it placed at #12. Per screen, it places at #9. His movie needs a good opening week to get wider release. Right now it's in limited releasse.
BTW, "America" is the subject of Megyn Kelly's show tonight (7/4).
FRiend, truly -- the choir is bigger than the congregation.
Liberal democrats are the minority. Their candidates are in office because they cheat -- they gin, they manipulate, they harvest, they outright make up votes. They even raise the dead. Guys like Al Franken, Harry Reid, and Obama are in office because fake, ginned votes tipped the balance.
The liberals have to cheat because probably six in ten Americans, real legit legal productive working Americans, object to Obama, Reid, Franken, and all the rest of the liberal left and all the nanny-state tyranny it represents. The only reason these leftist tyrants win is because they cheat -- they have to cheat because they are the minority.
Americans sick of government tyranny need to stop blaming their fellow Americans for "electing these idiots," wake up, and understand that limited government conservatism represents most Americans who are increasingly disenfranchised and demoralized. We must start perceiving the truth.
I saw the film this afternoon with about eight other movie theater patrons. None of us left until the final credits rolled.
As good as the film was, I really enjoyed D’Souza’s take down of the myth of American conquest in the Mexican American War. A badly outnumbered American army drove back the Mexicans and actually occupied Mexico in its entirety before returning North. The USA paid for the land in dispute. It was a thorough rebuttal of the La Raza party line.
Reading the headstones is a very humbling experience.
Just got back from seeing this from Solomon Pond mall - a metro-west theater. Despite the rain, theater was half-full. Robust round of applause from all at the end!
> If I did see it, I wouldnt tell you for fear of an IRS audit.
Don’t pay for a ticket with a credit or debit card - use cash.
Have you ever been in Batavia?
Just asking.
Not only does the U.S. need to go back to pre-Dewey, it needs to go back to a **totally** PRIVATE system of delivering education.
Government SS schools were are progressive idea of the 1800s. Progressives have always controlled teacher training and curriculum development. Progressives have always pushed the the boundaries of society's mores and ethics. Progressives have always pushed for greater and greater secularization and not **celebrate** forcing godlessness on captive children.
Government schools have **always** been a First Amendment and freedom of conscience abomination. It only took one to three generations of government SS schooling to give the nation Woodrow Wilson and Franklin D. Roosevelt. The nation has been swirling down the socialist sewer ever since.
As the fireworks go off to celebrate our freedom, Dinesh D’Souza’s ‘’America’’ has just surpassed Hillary Clinton’s ‘’Hard Choices’’ on Amazon.com’s Bestseller List. God bless America.
The "Ern" part comes from a pal's now dead pet goat who was named Ernie...............I'm a sick bastid, I guess...
What D'Souza did give us is a guide to refuting the inain assertions of the left. No, America is not perfect, but it is more benevolent than any other nation and Disesh gives us a fairly simple refutation of the critics of America. It also does a great job making the connection between Alinsky and Obama and Hildabeast.
That reminds me. We are the beneficiaries of the new technology. The cost to transmit a movie to theaters by satellite, or mail high definition DVDs, is a tiny fraction of the cost of prints on film. D’Souza could never open on a thousand or thousands of screens just five years ago.
I can't believe that so many people can be so stupid, as to not know that the slaves were freed by Abraham Lincoln, the first Republican, and the DemoNazi party has always been the party of the KKK, Bull Connor with his fire hoses and attack dogs, and segregation, lynchings and bombings, and of course slavery. But 95% of blacks are Dems. Unbelievable.
Batavia was the name of the capital of the Dutch East Indies (present day Indonesia). It was replaced with Jakarta.
Everyone should take the opportunity to see it. D’Souza needs to do an epic documentary series about the United States.
I hope he continues to make documentary fills for a long.
He’s a 21st-Century Alex de Tocqueville.
How does it compare to the movie?
I haven’t seen the movie but from the few parts I have seen on Kelly Files, it appears to be about the same.
