HOUSTON, Texas--On Thursday Texas Governor Rick Perry spoke at a House Homeland Security Committee field hearing near the Texas-Mexico border, where lawmakers discussed the thousands of illegal immigrants entering the country each day. Perry wasted no time stressing that the migrants--many of whom are minors--must be sent back to their home countries as soon as possible.
"Nobody is doing any of these children the slightest favor by delaying a rapid return to their countries of origin, which in many cases is not Mexico," the governor said. "Allowing them to remain here will only encourage the next group of individuals to undertake the same life-threatening journey. Those who have come must be sent back to demonstrate, in no uncertain terms, that risking their lives to cross Mexico and enter our country simply isn’t worth it."
He mentioned that because Border Patrol agents are stuck taking care of the children in facilities, there are less agents actively patrolling the border. Because of this, Perry said "the border between the U.S. and Mexico is less secure today than anytime in the recent pass."
He continued, "We’re also in danger at the hands of those who might be slipping through from countries with known terrorist ties. With a range of potential threats facing us from abroad, this is not the time to turn our attention elsewhere. ... Secure this border, Mr. President. Finally address this issue, put an adequate number of Border Patrol agents on the ground permanently."
In Perry's view, if action is not taken soon "the flow [of illegal immigrants] is not going to stop."

All Perry has to do is issue a clarion call to Texans to go secure the border.
So far, all he and Brewer has done is whine and complain that Obama ain't doing his job, like he would anyway.
Perry is right. I respect him for speaking out like this.

That’s easy to say from Wisconsin.
What we want is a governor who can act quickly and resourcefully in the face of fast-moving events. Not one of the 50 has shown any capacity to do so.
Haven't heard of Ranger deployment yet.

La Raza Rick is worse than that. As a Karl Marx creation he is just like George W. Bush. And like Bush, Perry has a record of being pro-ILLEGAL alien. He even went as far as to say he "Embraces Vicente Fox's vision of an open border".
Perry can't be trusted nor should he be. He'll say or do anything to become president. After that, it's business as usual pandering to the ILLEGAL hordes just as he has done as governor.

True, the flow is not going to “stop”. However, we can influence whether it is 2 million a year, 500k a year, 5k a year, or the 6 million a year that are likely under Obama’s new push to flood our borders. Good policies can reduce the flow of criminals into our country to a small enough number that it is no longer a manufactured humanitarian crisis or even an economic problem.

The Texas Rangers currently coordinate border security operations through six (6) Joint Operations and Intelligence Centers (JOICs) along the Texas-Mexico border and Coastal Bend area of the state.
I’m pretty sure a lot of other Texas resources are on the border including game wardens, drones, helicopters and a lot of DPS troopers like HG said.

I don't think so either. But I think we need to do what we can to see he does not get the nomination. Can you see him debating Hillary, the very woman he said was a "Great Secretary of State"?
