A rather exasperated President Barack Obama pressed Congress to find a solution to the looming Highway Trust Fund crisis, arguing "it's not socialism" to want to build new highways and bridges in the country.
"It's not crazy. It's not socialism. It's not the imperial presidency,"

"It's not like they've been busy with other stuff! No, seriously," Obama said.
Republicans and Democrats in Congress are still divided on both a short-term solution to finance highway projects through the rest of the year and a long-term fix for the shortfall. Two senators introduced a bipartisan plan to incrementally raise the 18.4 cents-per-gallon gas tax, however there is little political appetite for such a move in an election year.
Obama repeated a warning that more than 700,000 jobs could be at risk next year if Congress does not figure out how to replenish the nearly depleted trust fund. In a letter to state officials Tuesday, Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx warned Tuesday the fund would run dry sometime next month, at the height of the summer traveling and construction season.
Also on Tuesday, Foxx warned the Obama administration will begin delaying reimbursements to states for infrastructure projects on Aug. 1 if Congress cannot come up with a solution.
In his remarks, Obama laid the blame for the looming crisis on congressional Republicans, tying it to his recent complaints they aren't passing enough legislation to solve problems. Obama also said, in general, that he would continue to pursue the use of executive actions where he saw opportunity, making light of House Speaker John Boehner's plan to file a lawsuit against him.
"So sue me!" he said. "As long as they're doing nothing, I'm not going to apologize for doing something."

What exactly happened to all that stimulus money that was to rebuild our decaying infrastructure, and create shovel ready jobs? Rather than maintenance on our highway system, the money was squandered on politically expedient, make-work jobs and Democrat cronies to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars per short term job created. Don’t trust Obama with anything.
And if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. Period.
The man is angry. He’s losing his cool.
Not a smidgen of corruption.

When has he ever denied #1 and #2 for that matter?
I can’t wait until this douche loses it & blows a gasket..he knows he’s no longer relevent, petulant child syndrome is now more obvious.
Obama’s “My way or the highway” plan.
Wouldn’t it be refreshing if, just once, he’d channel even one-tenth of this anger at Islamo-fascist terrorist groups?
Highway funding dire. Light rail funding promiscuous.
In general we have too much highway infrastructure, more than we can afford to maintain in the long term to a high level of safety. And we certainly don’t need to be building more highways which we also can’t afford both to build initially AND to maintain going forward.
We need highway triage and spend money keeping our existing highways to a higher standard. (Go to Germany and see what a good highway is).
As usual we live way beyond our means (on endless debt and money printing) .. but even worse beyond the means of our grandchildren and further out.
Projection.
Where did the $9 trillion go that was supposed to be getting spent on infrastructure since this ass hat took office?
Would those be the same highways Emperor O'Bozo promised to fix with the $900 Billion stimulus money that has mysteriously vaporized
without leaving any trace?
Sounds like “I’m not a crook” doesn’t it?
Someone any one, take him golfing

Just a few more bad poll numbers away from his own “god damn America” moment
Did comrade obamatollah really say this Freudian slip?
I hope congress gives this bloviating degenerate $0.00. The cretin has blown (stolen) several trillion for various “shovel-ready” projects and has produced high unemployment, high disability, high number of illegal aliens and so on. Good job, Barky. Someone...anyone arrest this criminal subhuman pretender, jail him, then exile him when he is elderly and barely able to function. This fool and his grifter family should return all the money they have stolen from us.
