Trace Adkins - Just Fishin'
I'm lost in her there holding that pink rod and reel. She's doing almost everything but sitting still. Talking bout her ballet shoes and training wheels, and her kittens. And she thinks we're just fishin'.
I say Daddy loves you baby one more time, she say's I know, I think I got a bite. An all this laughing, crying, smiling, dying here inside is what I call living
An she thinks we're just fishing on the river side, throwing back what we could fry, drowning worms an killing time, nothing too ambitious she ain't even thinking bout what's really going on right now but I guarantee this memories a big one and she thinks we're just fishin'
She's already pretty, like her momma is Gonna drive the boy's all crazy giver her daddy fits and I better do this every chance I get 'cause time is ticking
An she thinks we're just fishing on the river side, throwing back what we could fry, drowning worms an killing time, nothing too ambitious she ain't even thinking bout what's really going on right now but I guarantee this memories a big one and she thinks we're just fishing
She ain't even thinking' bout what's really going on right now but I guarantee this memories a big one and she thinks we're just fishin' Yeah, she thinks we're just fishin' We ain't only fishin' This ain't about Fishin'

I'd say no more work for mine (Welcome to the club) On my door I'd hang a sign Gone fishin' instead of just a-wishin'
ARMSTRONG (Spoken): Papa bing CROSBY (Spoken): Yeah, Louis ARMSTRONG:I stopped by your place a time or two lately And you aren't home either CROSBY Well, I'm a busy man, Louis I got a lotta big deals cookin' I was probably tied up at the studio ARMSTRONG You weren't tied up, you dog You was just plain old.....

CROSBY: Folks won't find us now because BOTH: Mister Satch and Mister Cros CROSBY: We gone fishin' instead of just a-wishin' ARMSTRONG: Bah-boo-baby-bah-boo-bah-bay-mmm-boo-bay BOTH: Oh yeah!

“Yellow-Backed Fly” written by Steve Martin and performed by him and The Steep Canyon Rangers. Woody Pratt does lead vocals. Reminds me of Sal Valentino of The Beau Brummels. Great song about stalking a trout.
“I go at six am, quiet as a hymn.
Gonna catch old Jim with the yellow-backed fly.
Twenty inches long, measured with a stick.
He’s old Jim but to me he’s Moby Dick.”

BAND OF BROTHERS
WORLD WAR II
Soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division "Screaming Eagles" June 7, 1944 at Ste. Marie du Mont, France
"THIS DAY IS CALL'D the feast of Crispian. He that outlives this day, and comes safe home, Will stand a tip-toe when this day is named, And rouse him at the name of Crispian. He that shall live this day, and see old age, Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours, And say, "To-morrow is Saint Crispian." Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars, And say, "These wounds I had on Crispin's day."
KOREA
Marines of the "Chosin Few", 1st Marine Division Chosin Reservoir, Korea, December 1950
"OLD MEN FORGET; yet all shall be forgot, But he'll remember with advantages What feats he did that day. Then shall our names, Familiar in his mouth as household words, Harry the King, Bedford, and Exeter, Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester, Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb'red. This story shall the good man teach his son; And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by, From this day to the ending of the world, But we in it shall be remembered."
VIETNAM
FMF Corpsman D. R. Howe treats the wounds of Pfc. D. A. Crum, USMC "H" Company, 2nd Battalion, Fifth Marine Regiment, during Operation Hue City.
"WE FEW, WE HAPPY FEW, we band of brothers; For he to-day that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile, This day shall gentle his condition: And gentlemen in England now a-bed Shall think themselves accursed they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day." (Henry V, Act IV, Scene iii)

OUR NATIONAL MEMORIALS October 2013
"ONCE MORE unto the breach, dear friends, once more, Or close the wall up with our English dead. In peace there's nothing so becomes a man As modest stillness and humility; But when the blast of war blows in our ears, Then imitate the action of the tiger; Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood, Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage; Then lend the eye a terrible aspect; Let it pry through the portage of the head Like the brass cannon; let the brow o'erwhelm it As fearfully as does a galled rock O'erhang and jutty his confounded base, Swill'd with the wild and wasteful ocean."(Henry V, Act III, Scene i)
THE STRUGGLE AGAINST TYRANNY GOES ON, AS IT HAS FROM TIMES IMMEMORIAL. THE BAND OF BROTHERS STILL STANDS FAST IN THE BREACH!
THEY HAVE OUR SIX!
Honor Them For Their Service And Sacrifice!

The Five Pound Bass (Robert Earl Keen)
Up this morning, before the sun
Fixed me some coffee and a honey bun
Jumped in my pickup, gave her the gas
I'm goin' out to catch a five pound bass
Down by the lake side just off the ramp
All them people sleeping in their fishing camp
Some out in the pup tents, some out on the grass
They all be dreaming 'bout that five pound bass
The early bird he always gets his worm
Me, I always get my wish
When you're talking 'bout that five pound bass son
The early worm he gets the fish
Jumped in my john boat, I stow my gear
I fire her up and when I am in the clear
I sail across that water, as smooth as glass
Ready, here I come you five pound bass
I find a perfect spot, some old dead trees
Back in a canyon where you can't feel no breeze
I tie my lure, I make my cast
It's breakfast time, you five pound bass
That old sun is rising, that water is clear
I watch my lure as it's flying through the air
I see a ripple... I hear a splash
Lord have mercy, it's a five pound bass!

It never pained me to listen to Linda’s rendition. It was very smooth and relaxing. Never mind the “yelling” you speak of. Almost every one of her songs has a climactic moment where she (as I would characterize it) “belts it out”. That’s her passion. She starts it sufficiently low to allow the highs to build.
For my money, she is second only to Karen Carpenter as a female vocalist in nearly every pop genre.
