A veterans organization has called on Americans to boycott Mexican products and vacations until jailed U.S. Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi is freed, The Washington Times reported.
Tahmooressi, 25, of Weston, Florida, has been held in a Mexican jail for nearly three months after he crossed the border carrying three firearms not registered in the country.
Now the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the nations oldest and largest veterans group, is demanding his safe return while urging a boycott until his release.
"This combat Marine has been languishing away since he was arrested March 31 for allegedly crossing the border accidentally with three personal firearms that were legally registered in the [United States] but not in Mexico," said VFW National Commander William Thien, according to the Times. "It was a mistake, but so is the Mexican governments reluctance to release him unharmed back to the U.S."
Thien said he has urged President Barack Obama to intervene by calling Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, but his request failed to result in a phone call between the two leaders.

Good, can we start with their illegal border jumpers?
And you are right to do so (put the produce back), I won’t horrify you with some of the stories I have read of what they do to that produce when they tend it.
If there’s no border to keep the mexicans out of USA, how do they know Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi crossed the border?
BTW, what is his color, nationality and religion? I’d bet none of them apply for zero to even spit in his general direction.
Im ahead of them
I went to a church supper last year. They were serving tacos. There was not a single mexican around. I left after stating that this is America not mexico. Give me a coke, hot dog and apple pie.
What a pile of crap. The only thing to put the fear in Mexicans is sending armed troops to cross the border and pull the Marine out. And with orders to protect themselves and shoot if necessary. Mexico is thumbing their nose at America and know we are a lost Country. They do what they please.
Let’s Invade Mexico...why not, they are invading US. With all our handguns, we could take Mexico in no time. Then put a fence on the border and make Mexicans speak English!!
Winner!
Say what you want about the Mexicans, their food (at least as served in this country) is very satisfying.
No more Corona or any other Mexican beer. No more tequila
It’s one thing if mexicans are cooking their traditional foods. It’s another if Americans are trying to imitate mexican food.
Maybe I should suggest the church have a sushi supper... Pearl Harbor and all.
In winter most of our fresh produce comes from Mexico. If I see the word Mexico on any product, I put it back. Those people dont know anything about hygiene and food safety.

Yes, I put it back, as well. I have been boycotting Mexico for years.
I used to buy Thomas’s English muffins until I learned that they had been bought by Bimbo Bakery, which is a Mexican company. Bimbo also owns Entemann’s now.
I have taken to checking, also, on products like toothpaste. Recently, I saw toothpaste — I think it was Aim — on sale in Walgreen’s. Fortunately, I looked at the box instead of just buying it at such a great price. It was made in India, I think.
The only thing to put the fear in Mexicans is sending armed troops to cross the border....

Well, I think that if you suggested that to someone in charge, Obamugabe would get right on it.
I didn't realize Bimbo also bought Thomas’. I just bought a package of their whole wheat English muffins. Ick!
Thanks for the info.
As I recall, Bimbo was considering buying Hostess, but I am pretty sure they did not. But, since I don’t buy those products, I had not done the research.
It was actually the Hostess story that made me aware of Bimbo’s acquisition of Thomas’s and Entemann’s. I don’t miss Entemann’s, but I did love the English muffins.
I am pretty sure that those products are made here, though. But I just refuse to give a Mexican company my money if I can help it.
