The globe just experienced the hottest May in recorded history, according to reports from multiple organizations. Ocean and land temperatures rose 0.74 degrees Celsius (1.33 degrees Fahrenheit) over the 20th Century average, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). That makes May 2014 the warmest May since the agency started tracking those figures in 1880. Both NASA and Japan Meteorological Agency came to the same conclusion this was the warmest May ever recorded. Overall, this was the second warmest spring ever, trailing only the March-May period in 2010, according to the NOAA.

Us poor no-nothing peasants in flyover country in the Northern Rockies just got 24” + of snow in some locations, after one of the coldest and snowiest winters in fifteen years.

My personal benchmark is the date at which I feel that I absolutely have to start using AC in my house. Most prior years, that comes around June 1. This year it was about 2 weeks later.
This May was not the hottest ever. That’s BS.
“According to reports from multiple organizations”? Now there some definitive reporting for you!
Throw your money at Al Gore and beg him to save us, maybe we’ll have a chance.
I sometimes ask GW believers how accurate they think records were being kept in, say, Nevada, the Yukon, Siberia and the Amazon in the 1880s. How many weather stations were there, were they calibrated, and could they measure anything consistently to within 0.1 deg, even assuming the person reading the instrument wasn’t drunk at the time?
The GW believers usually decide I’m an evil person who hates Mother Gaia...
I call Bravo Sierra.
I’ve kept daily temperature records from the same location for 18 years and this past May was within three tenths of a degree of the 18 year average....62.1 F

Here in east Texas it was the mildest I can remember for the past 30 years.
May of 2014 here in MD reminded me very much of the May weather that we experienced in the 1950s and ‘60s, and June in these parts has been absolutely beautiful.
There were a few days in each month that were uncomfortable, but overall it’s been great.
