Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) on Sunday said he blames the current crisis in Iraq on those who backed the 2003 U.S. invasion, not President Obama.
Paul was asked on NBCs Meet the Press whether former Vice President Dick Cheney is a credible critic after he blasted Obama for his strategy for Iraq in an op-ed last week.
I think the same questions could be asked of the same people who supported the Iraq war, Paul said. Whats going on now..I dont blame President Obama. I blame the Iraq war and I blame the people who supported the Iraq war for emboldening Iran.
The Bush administration didnt understand and foresee that a civil war would break out, Paul said.

I think rand paul is playing politics. If he’s as smart
as he thinks he is, he knows full well President Bush was
holding our forces in Iraq to help them learn about self
government. He knew full well there would be a civil war
if we pulled out.
There is now a civil war because the present president. NOBAMA did not want President Bush to have any credit when
the Iraqi people did have a government for the people.
Aren’t all Arab nations of the muslim faith? As ours is
Christian? Aren’t Sunni and Shiite muslim based faiths?
Boys! Boys! This is the war room! Show some decorum!
If there's an "unofficial state religion" here in the U.S. today, it's radical secularism ... which offers no more promise for a bright future than Islam does.
LOL. I didn’t take it personally. It was kind of funny reading it there so stark in black and white. :-)
So, you were against US intervention before you were for Russian intervention in Ukraine....
lol.
You RonPaulians are such a joke.
LMAO! Hey, any Paul is guilty here!
Sorry Albert’s Child. I made a mistake. I should have
noted our nation was based on Christian/Jewish Ideals. I do not like this “separation of church and state” statement, which is a line from the Communist Manifesto. I like our “Bill of Rights’ Preamble, Article - Common Law.
Uhhhh....I'm against toppling legitimate govs in Iraq, Egypt, Libya, Syria, Ukraine, even Iran,.....
I'm not a "Paulista". I'm saying that a mad-as-'ell US population could easily choose Rand Paul who mixes it up by speaking out rather that a DC lapdog. If a RINO backstabber is the only other choice, I'll proudly vote for Rand Paul instead of Jeb or Christie, for example.
Rand Paul is a rino and too liberal, most of his politicking is about trying to get us to move left on issue after issue, even on life and gay marriage, not just on his Obama positions on foreign policy.

unFlipping believable.
The US policy from the 1990s (IE Bill Clinton)was to remove saddam from power, GW Bush did not pull that out of his a$$.
If you want to support Paul, I do not care.
Rand Paul said: “Senator Reid and I actually have very warm personal relations and weve been meeting informally for months” (June 2014)
That says it all.
Rand is just another pretend conservative. No respect for him.
Give me Jeb Bush or Christie or Rand Paul with no proven constitutional conservative to choose, and I'll choose Rand Paul.
Keep in mind that any nation based on "ideals" rather than an official religion is likely to end up with very watered-down religious inclinations among its citizens. The problem is that "Christian" means a lot of different things to a lot of different Christians!
This is exactly where we stand right now, isn't it?
Yet another tell-tale sign of an “out of touch” politician.
