AUSTIN Texas top three lawmakers agreed Wednesday to spend tens of millions dollars to fund a surge operation along the border to deal with the influx of Central American children pouring into Texas.
Gov. Rick Perry, Lt. Gov David Dewhurst and House Speaker Joe Straus authorized a deal for emergency funding of $1.3 million per week for DPS surge operations that will run through at the least the end of the year.
Texas cant afford to wait for Washington to act on this crisis and we will not sit idly by while the safety and security of our citizens are threatened, Perry said in a statement.

We need border security, not monitoring.
“The state could always exercise its 10th Amendment rights and ignore the law just like Obama and Holder are ignoring the laws.”
Yep. Perry was touting the 10th Amendment during his Presidential run and after.
Greg Abbott (the new Governor of Texas, currently Atty Gen) said on FNC earlier today that they would have boots on the ground, planes in the air, and boats in the water. From what I’ve read, many are crossing the river. I’m not a stratergist, but it seems to me if there are boats in the water where a lot of them seem to be crossing, they can turn them back to Mehico (or at least try to do so), before they reach US soil or waters. Just a thought.
put um on another bus, bring them to the boarder crossing and point south as a direction they are to walk.
That's what's made me wonder if ANY of the governors don't want to keep the invaders but not have to answer to anti-invasion US citizens. The state has total control over the roads. Highway officers can stop any vehicle they want to from travelling on its roads. If you or I drove down the roads with children not with their parents and from a foreign country, we'd be charged with kidnapping. Throw the bus drivers and any other adults involved with the transport of these "children" in jail! And keep any busses with the children in them off the roads.
What a great opportunity for a federal vs states rights crisis.
Tell the illegals we will be flying them to Iraq and Syria.
Texas should withold any and all remittance to the federal government, and use the funds to shore up their southern border. When the feds protest, tell them that they failed to provide services that were paid for, therefore no more tax revenue, or any revenue for that matter, from Texas.

Good point! Call it child trafficking and put a stop to it and return the kids to Mexico. If word gets out that it’s a little tougher to get into Texas now, the route will change at least. It’s a baby step but it’s in the right direction.
Charge the transporters with child trafficking and endangerment...give the Feds the headache of it.
I love that idea. Arrest the drivers.
They better not be lying.
Then this whole Border Surge is a sham!
They’ve got to be prevented from crossing in the first place.
Fellow Texans, keep burning up the faxes, emails and phones at the governors office and the offices of your representatives!
Ask what they intend to do about the massive invasion of illegal aliens into Texas, bringing crime, disease, drugs and unbelievable expense to the state to care for them.
This is sheer insanity!
HOUSTON, TexasGovernor Rick Perry (R-TX) appeared on Fox News Fox and Friends show and said Texas lacks the resources and manpower to secure the 1,200 mile Texas border... BS!
Other Texas elected officials, speaking on condition of anonymity have told Breitbart Texas that Texas does, in fact, have the resources to conduct not only a surge operation, but a prolonged border control operation that would secure the Texas border with Mexico.

We, the undersigned, because the federal government has failed to act, call on the Texas Legislature to develop and fund a border and port of entry security plan utilizing state and local law...
On the TX members Action Board - a link to fax Perry and phone call to make to your R Reps supporting Rep Louie Gohmerts Fortify the Border Amendment.
You have to be registered at NumbersUSA....its worth joining for all of the faxes you can send to your elected officials. These are good guys, whove been fighting the good fight for YEARS.
Additionally, anyone can call Perry and anyone can ask their Rep to support Gohmert's amendment.
True enough. However, it is the “other than Mexican” that is most worrisome.
Prevention is exactly the key to this along with expedited mass deportations. The word that the welcome mat is gone needs to get back to the invading countries pronto. Unfortunately Obama and the GOP establishment are not on our side.
Only a minefield will do. Not even the Euro’s allow this blatant invasion into their sovereign lands. This is exactly what zero wants however—pure chaos.
Better would be to fly them back in jumbo jets back to their country capitals: Tegucigalpa, Mexico city, Guatemala City...
I am glad zero and the FBI don’t know what I want! :(
