I don't want to cite any one source for this one since a lot of the sites you'll see this story on are not exactly right of center pollitically... Nonetheless anybody can do a simple Google search on [ ISIS toyota trucks ] and multiple versions of the story will turn up, along with images, e.g.
The question you have to ask yourself is, Could I afford a new Toyota truck that easily??
If the answer is no, than you should be bent out of shape more than a little bit here. Real rebels and terrorists are supposed to be poor and operate on shoestring budgets; this appears to be your and my tax dollars at at work along with whatever contributions the Saudis might be making...
They raided the banks in Mosul, which were unusually well stocked not just with cash but gold bullion. ISIS became the richest terrorist organization overnight looting over 500 million dollars.
Question is, how much of this is the American taxpayer, who can’t afford new cars for himself, paying for??
They are not identical, and they are not all new.

On the other point. There are millions of used old Toyota and Nissan pickup trucks sold in other parts of the world.
In 1999 I sold my 1988 Toyota(when Toyota only made one truck model) I was contacted by two different brokers who were hoping it would not pass inspection in NH. IF they will not pass inspection, they will buy them and ship them to Central America or Asia. They sell for about triple the price there. A couple years later when we invaded Afghanistan, I noticed every Taliban guy was riding around in the back of an old Toyota, Nissan or even older Datsun pickup truck.
To this day I still think:

A pair of A-10’s could put a stop to that in thirty seconds.

Toyota pick ups have been the dominant combat vehicle for the past 30 years. I remember I think back in the 1980s Chad defeated a Libyan invasion armed with Soviet tanks with dude firing RGPs and the like from Toyota Pick up trucks.
