The “good” and “well” makes me smile. Lessons of long ago.

“WHY is this criminal regime allowed to continue on its path to our destruction!!?”
Because there are only a few Republicans and too many RINOs to overcome. The RINOs goals are the same as Obemba’s goals.

It’s a lovely 70 degrees here this morning! I’m gonna enjoy it before the heat sets in later. We got no rain in spite of all the thunder, lightning and rain clouds that traveled over this desert area. sigh
I think I give up. LOL!

I'm the first to admit that "Lie Lady, Lie" just doesn't cut it for this lovely ballad, but someone has to feed the Grammar police.

Good stuff and an exceptional version at 41:00 minutes in of Leslie doing "Theme For An Imaginary Western." Best I've heard. Applause!

Another sweet ballad, this one a waltz marred by an unforgivable grammar blunder: "Song she sang to me, song she brang to me" Really?

I am not sure about this but I think that there is something named, ‘poetic license’ which gives artists the privilege to make such blunders and they are forgiven.
I remember the ol’ Christmas song about the sleigh bells in the snow and something about, “and we got ‘upsot’” instead of ‘upset’ so that it would rhyme. ;-)

While "have" would be the proper verb to use with the object here, the soft pronunciation of the "H", doesn't have the bite of "got", especially when Tina growls it, but it's a grammar lapse none-the-less.

Oh - well then never mind, I'll see ya next week.
Just kidding. Yes, Poetic license was on my list of nouns to describe various misapplications, erratum and flubs (you can only use faux pas so many times before you sound like a total snob).

The "Have/Got" Disparity is on full display in this Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil sizzler from 1965. There were actually two different versions of this song from the same recording sessions and while EMI, The Animals' parent record company meant to release identical versions as both UK and U.S. single releases, the take that they sent to MGM Records, the group's American label, was mistakenly one that had not been selected for release elsewhere. The lyric used to spot the difference is at the beginning of the second verse: the U.S. version went "See my daddy in bed a-dyin'," while this (the approved UK version) has "Watch my daddy in bed a-dyin'." Just more useless music trivia from yesteryear.
