Cantor's Graceless 'Concession Speech'

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) failed to congratulate or even acknowledge Dave Brat in his concession speech last night.

Neither did Cantor offer Brat his support in November's general election against his Democratic opponent, or call Brat to concede the race, according to Brat.

"Cantor's concession speech did not mention Dave once," Brat's campaign manager Zach Werrell noted to Breitbart News.

Words mean things. your collective argument over the past 4 days has been one excuse after another for continuing the proven to fail track of RINO empowerment.

I am not putting any words in your mouth.

My solution is to remove RINOs. That noble end goal is a beautiful thing. Since a dem and a rino are one and the same, you get an effective twofer.

Replace them with me, the dog, the first 500 names in the phone book. The odds then increase dramatically that we get a government that improves on the current.

Ever wonder why the founders hated party politics? Think you are wiser than they?

“I think we all agree that Cantor getting his arsch handed to him is a very good thing and sends a loud message.”

I actually broke out into a cheer at work last night when I heard the news. LOL.

I also am very interested in seeing how the GOPe reacts. I actually hope they rally behind our party’s candidate. Their track record isn’t good, but I truly believe we have to learn to cooperate to get what most of us want. The GOPe may not like it, but they need us. There’s a real Republican revolution going on right now, and I’m hoping we don’t hand victory to the Democrats in the process.

“...I also am very interested in seeing how the GOPe reacts. ...”

They’re pissed, of course.

“...but I truly believe we have to learn to cooperate to get what most of us want...”

I don’t believe in cooperating with evil people, Citizen. I believe in opposing it and defeating it.

“....There’s a real Republican revolution going on right now,....”

There is, but it’s a Tea Party revolution led by Conservatives against people pretending to be Republicans.

Every RINO replaced is one less that can go Quisling on us.

I disagree that all RINOs are identical to Democrats.

“Replace them with me, the dog, the first 500 names in the phone book. The odds then increase dramatically that we get a government that improves on the current.”

If a RINO wins their primary, we’re going to either have a RINO or a Democrat in that seat come November. I agree your dog would probably make a better candidate than many of them, but your dog isn’t an option.

Methinks it would be a fool’s bet to bet on the GOPe. If history is any guide, they won’t lift a finger to help Brat. I can hope, but I’m pretty sure the GOPe isn’t going to take this loss sitting down.

nope, the GOP-E will not help Brat at all and will then say “see, I told you so...”

This is the reductionist crux of the entire issue.

Some people accept evil. Some do not. To cooperate with it it to accept it. Some believe in situational ethics which allows them to cooperate.

But that is not conservative. It just is not. And as Reagan said in his 75 speech, such people should go their own way. Because ultimately, they, and we are not playing on the same team, nor even in the same sport. t

Pale Pastels or bold colors? Was Reagan wrong or the cheshires? A party standing for something or compromise with those we are against? Was Reagan wrong?

This is a simple binary issue that the left had somehow clouded with a lot of psychobabble.

We either stand on principle or compromise. There is exactly nothing grey between the two. Compromise is by nature grey itself.

And you dent reality. That is not my fault. the GOP is a party. As a party they side with democrats. That is 21st century American History 101.

I won’t cooperate with those trying to destroy my Country, my people, my heritage, my faith, my beliefs, my traditions,... my Nation.

And if moderates want to help in any of that, they can just go declare themselves Dems and seek votes elsewhere.

That’s about as clear and bright a line i can draw.

If the choice is between a RINO or Dem, I will write-in a candidate of my choice.

And that pretty much settles it for me. That is always my option.

And also...

My dog may not be a legal option but you have the write in option. You either use it or not. Do not say there is no choice. There is. You just freely choose not to exercize the choice. Instead, you go with blankie.

But you DO have a choice.

Hold the horses......

Many many Freepers made the choice to allow Obama to be reelected by staying home. They preferred the Democrat abomination

They will come now reiterating their sanctimonious rationalizations but can’t escape the hard truth

Utter crap. Stop blaming people that refused to vote for the lesser of two liberals. No one buys that crap anymore.

Roger that.

People want you to compromise what you believe in.

That’s not an option. The left sure as hell doesn’t. That’s why they are where they are right now.

Reagan was the Gold Standard. I was a little kid when he was California Governor, and my first Presidential election was a vote for him.

I grew up through my 20s when he was in office, and I saw what he did for my Country. And I saw a man who loved it, as much as I did and do.

I want that back again, by any means necessary, so that my children and grandchildren will have those same opportunities in the land their ancestors built.

That’s the long and short of it. And I will “support any friend, oppose any foe” in pursuit of that.

I’m a pretty simple guy.

My first as well. It was an amazing feeling to feel actual pride in a President. What he did in 8 years after Carter was amazing. Even in my little hick town people had a sense of purpose. a belief that it WAS getting better for a reason. And we were lousy with Dems up there!

Everything the cheshires is about works to ensure that never happens again. Everything. Thus the loathing.

Uncounted overseas ballots? Uncounted early voter balllots? I didn’t see the margin so I don’t know if any of those ploys would factor in.

One of the things Reagan said stuck with me all of my life.

“I didn’t leave the Democrat Party; the Democrat Party left me.” as he realized how far left they were going (or were).

He radiated optimism. And that is a virtue and a blessing, to be able to do that.

One of my favorite things was Bloom County...the comic. Berke Breathed, a hard leftist actually liked Reagan. Reagan even had him at the WH once.

And BB was fair in his strip. Now when a guy as far right politically as RR can be liked by a hard leftist, you KNOW he is doing something right. That he IS something right.

And he did it WITHOUT compromising his beliefs.

Believe it’s called “Winning hearts and minds”...

Remember the cartoon strip well, one of my favorites. “Outlands” too.
