Obama: "I released the Taliban because Screw You."

With regards to the release of five deadly Taliban generals for one deserter Islam-sympathizing US soldier, the excuse machine has become more and more ludicrous by the day.

• First Bowe Bergdahl's health was in danger.
• Next, we heard that Bergdahl was a soldier who served with honor and distinction,, so we had to rescue him.
• Next, we heard that platoon members who knew Bergdahl, and who criticizing him, were 'Swiftboating' him.
• Next, we were told that Bergdahls fellow soldiers may be psychopaths. Next, Obama fell back on the old, tired, 'racism/everyone hates me' card.
• Then, we were told by Obama that he has NO regrets for making the swap.
• Then we were told that Obama intends to make many more equally-illegal Taliban releases.
• Then we were told Congress wasn't informed of the swap because the Taliban threated to kill Bowe Bergdahl if they were informed.

It got so silly that I actually started a thread called Let's Come Up With The Dumbest Bergdahl-Swap Defense!, in which we all tried to out-do one another -- and Obama -- to come up with the stupidist, most insulting and in-your-face lies about this Taliban release.

Our Free Republic members did very well, and were very creative, but nothing can match the Obama administration. Their most recent ones are:

• ...and this one, which flies directly in the face of several of Obama's other excuses: Chuck Hagel did it.

WHAT???!?

If Chuck Hagel traded the five Taliban terrorists for one questionable US soldier, then Obama will have to redact and revise his following statements:

"I make no apologies for this trade" will have to become "Chuck Hagel makes no apologies for this trade".

"I will release these detainees whenever I see the chance" (in defiance of law), will have to become "Chuck Hagel will release these detainees and I will see it on the news and become very upset."

And finally, when Obama said that Republicans are upset at this deal because HE did it, because they don't like having a black President..... that will have to become, Republicans are upset at this deal because HAGEL did it, because they don't like having a white Secretary of Defense.

We saw the avalanche of floated excuses, sad justifications, and crazy reasons this swap 'had to happen', but as time has gone on and the excuses have gotten almost Pelosian in their insanity, I came to realize two things:

One, Obama is doing this strictly to distract from the very dangerous (to him) Benghazi scandal, in which he was transferring sophisticated US arms to terrorist enemies of the United States.... and part of the distraction ARE the very bizarre excuses...

Two, Obama released the terrorists because Screw You.

That's right. He has nothing but contempt for America and Americans, so: Screw You. That's his reason. What are you gonna do about it, punk. Screw You. And your family too.

This is the only explanation that makes any sense -IMO.

It's not like this administration has a history of showing any love/respect for our military in the first place.

When I was watching the One's speech at Normandy, I kept thinking about all the soldiers who sacrificed so much there and in WW II. Then I thought about the WWII Vets having to storm the Barrycades (put up by the petty, selfish idiots of the O White House ) in wheelchairs so that they could visit their own memorial .

We could add to this-the Marine being held in Mexico, the VA deaths , waiting lists, Benghazi (Why did they watch the two outnumbered Special forces guys fight for hours, with our em mbassy under attack, and NOT SEND THEM HELP? And why did they lie to the families of the fallen? )

It just makes me SO angry and sad , to see how little regard these people have for those who are willing to sacrifice everything for us and our nation.
