President Obama is taking a swipe at the Founding Fathers, blaming his inability to move his agenda on the disadvantage of having each state represented equally in the Senate.
At a Democratic fundraiser in Chicago Thursday night, Mr. Obama told a small group of wealthy supporters that there are several hurdles to keeping Democrats in control of the Senate and recapturing the House. One of those problems, he said, is the apportionment of two Senate seats to each state regardless of population.

Thank God for gridlock.

If odumbo was alive shortly after the founding fathers created our constitution, he would be in prison already, (or worse).
Sorry dear leader. That was a political compromise put into place so the smaller states would have better representation. Otherwise, it would be the tyranny of the larger states. And you wouldn’t have the new Federal constitution at all as the smaller states would never have agreed to it.

Fun NH fact: the NH legislature is the largest in the US, representing roughly 1.3 million people. Legislators receive the princely salary of $100 per year for their service.
KarlInOhio credits Founding Fathers structural design of Congress for gridlock
Obama is a Constitutional scholar in the same sense that an oncologist is a cancer scholar: he studied it only to learn how to fight and kill it.
One-party rule is tyranny.
You forgot this is all about him, I think Madison, Franklin etc, were a lot smarter than Obowma.
I’ll bet Obama wishes he could amend the Constitution by executive order.
I’ll also bet he does not realize how difficult the amendment process is, also as intended by the Founders, the most farsighted assemblage of men the world has ever seen.
I think Obama is exposing democrat fear with the statement.
The GOP holds state government super majorities in something like 23 or 24 states with the democrats holding super majorities in half as many with the rest being mixed.
Where democrats hold super majorities are in those heavily populated liberal states.
The fact is, if we went back to before the 17th amendment, republicans would hold 2/3s to 3/4s of the senate.
I don’t think our form of government has changed under Obama...so if he had a problem with it, why whine, why not just stay home and not bother being president? Or join some lawless outfit, like the Monochrome Coalition, where you can run around extorting businesses with impunity.
I’m tired of hearing how this “Constitutional scholar” doesn’t want to follow what it says.
Barry, that’s the one you have a majority in right now. You did know that, didn’t you?
Obama only uses what intelligence he has to further his wealth and control of people. The four legged animals who hang by their tails and chatter have more common sense this man monkey ever thought of having. Go back to Kenya and live with your communist/Islam/devil worshippers friends.
Obama nailed it. But not in the way he wanted. His rant against the Founding Fathers and the Constitution demonstrates the wisdom of the structure of the Congress.
The whole purpose of having equal representation of all the states in the Senate is to keep a demagogue who controls the more populous states from passing laws that might be disadvantageous to the smaller states.
I think our founding Fathers realized people like Obama might be voted into the office, and they prepared for this problem. Hoooooray !!!
The left cannot have California. They can have what's to the West of it.
Now the whiney little pissant (apologies to actual pissants) is looking for a way to make that somebody else's fault.
I’m not sure Einstein (aka Barbara Soetoro, Constitutional “Professor”) would even get what you are referring to.
