Its the kind of conservative media story only conservatives understand.
The latest numbers are out for Michael Savages radio show. Recall that Savage was a key player in the battle between Sean Hannity and Cumulus radio. A battle that had an exasperated Hannity finally firing Cumulus, as reported here in NewsBusters at the time. But not before Savage, whom Cumulus had in the wings to replace Hannity in the latters Cumulus slots, took shots at Hannity, gloating at taking Hannitys slot.
The Savage numbers tell a revealing tale of conservatism in the media. So lets start with the brand new numbers themselves, numbers supplied by Nielsen Audio. They are the numbers for April last month -, and cover 52 of Americas major radio markets. We will directly compare them here with Sean Hannitys last numbers before being replaced on Cumulus stations - which is to say Hannitys numbers for December, 2013. The percentages cited again, these are from Nielsen Audio (formerly known as Arbitron) are nothing if not startling.

Medved let Jeff Denham sell his NDAA amnesty on his show.
“Wow! Oh my God! Where have I heard that before!? I think Ive read that 500 times now. So I see he got the cliff notes on the situation. “

I am not surprised, Medved is a pro amnesty RINO and has been since at least 2006, when Bush tried and failed to get an amnesty passed. The good news is that it looks like Eric Cantor, the RINO, Pro Amnesty House Majority Leader, has pulled the plug on Denham's amnesty for illegals serving in the military amendment or as a stand alone bill.
BINGO!
I occasionally hear Hannity. He is always upbeat and likeable but I don’t care for his format or his habit of cutting off guests. Savage is angry and depressing and I don’t enjoy listening to him one bit. Savage is the Randi Rhodes of conservative radio.
I listened to Boortz before he was syndicated. Jamie Dupree was WSB’s Washington reporter. He came on with Boortz in the information overload hour, the noon-1PM time slot that a lot of the syndicated stations didn’t carry. Dupree is pretty knowledgeable, but definitely a Lib. Not as hardcore as many in his business, but still a Lib.
I LOVE Mark Belling..never a dull moment, and he keeps the show moving right along. He’s hard hitting, with facts and figures and info. When he fills in for Rush, I listen.
Not only is Savage insufferable, but he also took Hannity’s spot without the Rush audience lead in.
I think the NB is off-base in its analysis that listeners have turned away because of their dislike for Cumulus. Most listeners are neither aware of nor considering the programming distributor when deciding where to set their radio dial.
WABC airs Savage from 3 (3:05PM) to 5 with Curtis & Kuby noon to 3. I only tune to WABC when Levin comes on.
There is a reason why his numbers are up there! People are sick and tired of the same old talkng points over and over and nothing is getting done, people are angry
Bring back Steve Malzberg!
Fore sure! I used to fill the time with Rush's podcasts. I'd listen to the first hour on my drive home, the second on my evening walk, and the third on my way to work. That doesn't work any more.
I forward through the hawking of the books, the "sports" talk (the homo and the bigot), and the on-the-air ads, and that leaves only about an hour of real talking.
It seemed to me that Glen Beck got weird. He went from wanting to be the modern day Walt Disney to MLK and Ghandi.
Dickeys or Dicks ?
Yep, the other day on drive home from work, he asked what should we talk about, gave lot of options, like VA Scandal, Hillary’s health issue, economy...so then he goes into a speal about dogs, his dog, dogs he has had in the past, blah blah...I turned the station.
He is always bragging about how he is beating Hannity...goes on and on...
I like listening to talk shows on my drive home, I can only get Savage until I am almost home. Thus I think why his ratings are up..The other stations are Lib talk radio...
Just wondering. Haven’t listened in ages. Does the carpet kitten still call into Sean’s show???
