NAZI Basketball Association Outlaws Thought Crimes
American Uncensored News Network ^ | April 30, 2014 | Jonathon Moseley

Posted on 04/30/2014 9:03:35 AM PDT by Moseley

On April 29, the Nazi Basketball Association (NBA) managed to become even more offensive than Donald Sterling, owner of the Los Angeles Clippers. This is quite an achievement. The fascist outlawing of private “thought crimes” by the NBA is the only thing that could be more offensive than the racist comments made by Sterling. Sterling is so racist that he is a Jewish man very conspicuously shacking up with a half-Black, half-Mexican girlfriend. (Huh?)

At this very moment, Vladimir Putin’s Russia is silencing dissent. The Russian Duma has just passed Putin’s law regulating bloggers on the internet. Journalists, activists, and critics in Russia have been jailed, ostracized, persecuted, and pushed into bankruptcy. Social media is now illegal in Russia unless the servers are physically operated inside Russia under Putin’s control.

On April 29, a consensus of self-righteous, chest-thumping censorship was widely heard, including even from Ann Coulter and Bill O’Reilly. We are now living in George Orwell’s book 1984 in place of the late, great U.S.A.

The NBA’s actions were condemned by Larry Elder, African-American radio talk show host: The worst thing [Sterling] said was ‘Don’t bring your black friends to the games.’ “The black friends can go, just don’t have em sit next to you. If Magic wants to go, just don’t have him sit next to you’ … for that, he loses his team?”

The NBA did not merely distance itself from controversial comments, such as by demanding a very public apology, but banned Sterling for life, fined him $2.5 million, and began steps to force Sterling to sell his ownership of the basketball team. One should remember that the offensive comments were made in private and released only for the purpose of engineering the controversy at hand.

Thanks. I guess all I meant was that they had two or three days of bad press before they handled it, but after that I bet the NBA makes more off of these playoffs than if the story never broke at all.

“”If words can be so bad..then words can be a capital offense fit for execution. ...really when does it stop..at a capital crime word?..just say it and you will be put to death..in fact just be accused of saying the capital crime work and no trial. .just taken to a tree and strung up.
Is this progress?..is this progressivism in action? “”

It’s certainly the way I see it - as I posted on another thread this morning about the same subject. Why on earth aren’t people able to see that this will set a precedent and we’ll next see legislation for the death penalty for such an offense???

Larry Elder has it right!!! I only caught him at the end of yesterday’s show and he was really nailing this - true Larry with guts and to heck with PC.

I listen to him on the computer here in GA...

Probably, but a lot of that has to do with handling it. Now that the punishment has been announced the story will wind it’s way to the back pages and gone completely (at least until the next owner’s meeting or lawsuits get filed). With players threatening strikes if nothing was done this story could have kept at a high profile for a long time, not to mention costing them games. In the end the commissioner’s job is to protect the shield, he needs to short circuit bad press, not worry about whether the bad press is legitimate.

It doesn’t get any better than this: suspense, mystery, ugly girlfriend, money. Sterling is filthy rich. Hope he fights to keep the team. Beam me up, I’ve seen enough......The Great OZ has spoken.

I agree with that. To me, if a fast food franchise owner was secretly recorded as telling his mistress that he didn’t want her to eat 80% of the product they sell in public, what the heck is that company supposed to do? It’s not even a good analogy because the actual food they sell can’t threaten to boycott and ruin your most important time of the year.

In 2006, the Bush Justice Department are the ones that started investigating Sterling over Housing Discrimination.

Well, anyone can accuse you or me or anyone about anything. If Sterling was investigated -- and nothing happened -- maybe the allegations were FALSE.

Anyone who gets angry can drop a dime on you. And you should hope that when it gets investigated, you will be cleared at the end of the investigation.

Who was the idiot who said “If Larry Bird was Black he’d just be another player”.? The NBA would have gone into the dust bin of history if it wasn’t for Bird and Magic dueling it out.

The bad PR did NOT come from Sterling - it came from those who broke two laws, illegal recording and illegal dissemination. That’s what people don’t get - Sterling was privately offensive in a way that LEGALLY did NOT harm the NBA. And because of that, HE did not violate his “no bad PR” clause.

But something happened, Sterling had to pay up.

"2006: U.S. Dept. of Justice sued Sterling for housing discrimination. Allegedly, he said, “Black tenants smell and attract vermin.”

2009: He reportedly paid $2.73 million in a Justice Dept. suit alleging he discriminated against blacks, Hispanics, and families with children in his rentals. (He also had to pay an additional nearly $5 million in attorneys fees and costs due to his counsel’s “sometimes outrageous conduct.”)"

A lot of millions there if it was FALSE.

Rush hit on another reason this case was turned into a national witch hunt. This is pretty much all the libs have. Every day/week they scour the country to find someone or something to point their scaly fingers at and shout RACISM!!! or SEXISM!!! or HOMOPHOBIA!!! or the always reliable HATERRRRRRRR!!!!

There's been plenty of people who've pointed out all the hypocrisy is this fiasco. They knew Sterling was less than a wonderful person for decades. His girl friend is half black and half Mexican. She taped a supposedly private conversation and gave it to the media. He never uttered any racial slurs. He never tried to mess over his black players. He hired a black coach. And on and on. But he makes a statement that he doesn't want his girl friend to bring her black friends to a game so she's seen as possibly cheating on him, and the whole race industry goes ballistic. Hypocrisy should be on trial, not Sterling.

He sold his interest in the Nets, but now as a sports agent, he deals with the NBA and other sports leagues. Which, of course, should ban him. Want to lay odds they don’t?

For me the only point would be, if a black owner, coach, or player privately said something racist, equivalent to what sterling said, and it was taped, would he receive the same punishment?

No. Especially since Sterling didn’t actually use racial pejoratives.

No it came from Sterling’s behavior being caught on tape. It doesn’t matter if he thought it was private, it doesn’t matter if his girlfriend broke the law making it not private. A tape came out of HIM saying things that generated bad press, so indeed he broke the no bad press rule. Not on purpose, but most folks generating bad press don’t do so on purpose, doesn’t change the fact that HE is the one that said the things that damaged the shield.
