A Florida congressman has accused his wife of 24 years of being wed to another man for much of the duration of their marriage.
Rep. Alan Grayson, a Florida Democrat, alleged in divorce papers that his union with his wife, Lolita, was a “bigamous marriage” because she was already married when he wed her in 1990.
In the petition, Grayson accuses his wife of having filed a false application for their marriage license 24 years ago, when she lied about not being divorced from the other man at the time of their marriage.

I wonder why he waited 24 years to complain about it? It sounds to me like regardless of whether his wife knew about this legal technicality when they married, Grayson certainly did. He entered into the marriage knowing that it was technically void (though probably subject to state laws concerning "common law" relationships). He'll probably win this case on that technicality, even though he evidently knew about the problem and allowed the wedding to proceed 24 years ago.
What a snake.

In the petition, Grayson accuses his wife of having filed a false application for their marriage license 24 years ago, when she lied about not being divorced from the other man at the time of their marriage.It seems to me, that if she DID say she was married, then obviously, she DIDN'T lie on the application.
