INDIANAPOLIS Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin fired up a crowd of thousands inside Lucas Oil Stadium Saturday night to kick off the National Rifle Associations Stand and Fight Rally, saying Americans constitutional rights as envisioned by the founding fathers are under attack and policies like gun-free zones constitute stupid on steroids.
They knew that if the Second Amendment goes, the rest of the constitution is not far behind, she said of the countrys founders.
In her approximately 12-minute address, Mrs. Palin also derided what she argued is akin to a blame the messenger attitude on gun violence many Americans take today.
Gun stores are an accomplice to crime, she said, and that fork made me fat.
Mrs. Palin, plucked from relative political obscurity to be the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee, still enjoys significant support among elements of the partys base, and was at times received like a rock star inside the complex adjacent to the Indiana Convention Center, where much of the gun rights groups annual meeting has taken place.

There you go again, moving the goal posts per usual. Everyone on this thread noticed you didn't link me to a candidate who has a plan to deal with illegal immigration. Just one sir, just one, go ahead, we're watching. You obviously know her and every other candidate better than we do, so we're watching. As I said, we're also not holding our breath because we understand your hypocrisy and odd intellectual bankruptcy. Keep up the double standards, wrap them in blue print, and we'll all marvel at your chutzpah (and yes, we'll laugh).
Keep posting us interviews that are six years old, interviews that never proved your point, keep making up what she says, and pretend you don't KNOW she came out strongly against the GOPE's amnesty/immigration plans. Go ahead, we're all watching you stink up the thread with your made up beliefs, so by all means continue.
We're also waiting for an apology for your Smearing, browbeating, blue lies for the past years.
MAN UP: YOU WERE WRONG, ADMIT IT, MAN UP.

Okay rather than touch on substance and disapprove and provide an alternative view, you just conceeded the poing and went for the insult killer. Killer of what? Killer of discussion. You don't want discussion because you can't challenge my comments on point.
You're just not getting the message that your comments aren't worth challenging, because if we want to hear your points, we can all just turn on MSNBC, CNN, gAyBC, or SeeBS and listen to those idiots quack the same points all day long.
The volume of ignorance you are willing to pump onto the forum to prove what an idiot you are, is simply staggering.
I provide the woman's own sound-byte, and you can't gain any meaning out of that. Are you saying she now works for MSNBC, CNN, gAyBC, or SeeBS? I didn't get this info from them. It's straight from her mouth.
And when it comes to the illegal alien problem, they aren't going to come at this from the same approach I have. And you don't have the faculties to know that either.
We come to Free Republic for intelligent discussion, not for the Katie Couric/DoughtyBoy executive summary.
Please find us any statement by Couric or any representative of the media outlets you just mentioned, where the opinion is expressed that registration and remain in place is a bad thing.
You really shouldn't make silly statements that can be turned back on you. Here you made a fatal mistake. You won't be able to find my views expressed by this person or a representative of those entities.
Third grade much?

Here's part of her interview with O'Reilly. I'm not a big fan of O'Reilly, but in this interview she again reinforces her intent to register them and that the expectation is that the illegals who register will work. This is from 2010, two years after McCain went down to defeat, and the same year Palin endorsed him to remain the Senator from Arizona over Hayworth. She hadn't been his running mate for two years. None the less, she's still hawking the registration and remaining in place.
I will have to admit to one thing you're right about. There is a big pile of stupid on this thread. Some it is evidenced by talking about me without linking me in. When you've been here a while, you'll realize that linking someone in when you talk about them s pretty much accepted behavior here.
So is linking in a number of people you hope will side with you and attack someone all at once, if your flailing on your own.

Some it is evidenced by talking about me without linking me in. We're not interested in your opinion. Free Republic doesn't revolve around you.

Okay, then you’re simply admitting you’re not man enough to allow someone to respond to your insults about them.
Add one more moronic feature to your known skill set.
To: DoughtyOne
No, I'm simply admitting that you're a FR Last-Word blowhard.
I've been on FR long enough that I don't have to take the likes of you seriously.
Gads. At least you've dispensed with the Blue-Ink Blather. Now, it will be just Last-Word Blather, unless one of the others b*tch-slaps you silly, again.

Okay, so we can add to the list of your failed comprehension skills, that you can't understand why someone would find it likely to wish to respond to every comment made that criticizes him.
Why should I allow you to attack, and not respond? I've been on FR long enough that I don't have to take the likes of you seriously.
And this is supposed to bother me? It is customary to link people in when you are talking about them. My thinking that you should have is not an insult to you. You not linking me in, is rude to me.
All this because I raised a premise you don't like, and since yesterday you haven't been able to disprove it.
Gads. At least you've dispensed with the Blue-Ink Blather. Now, it will be just Last-Word Blather, unless one of the others b*tch-slaps you silly, again.
I have responded to every post I've seen to me here. And I have provided rebuttals and evidence that what I am saying is true. On the other hand, you folks haven't been able to post something that shoots down what I've been saying.
So who has been bitch-slapped here?
The really sad thing here is that you folks still don't understand that Palin stands for registration and staying in place. That's not the Conservative vision on this. You do know that right?
Proposing people register and remain in place, and then claiming you're not for amnesty really grates some of us who expect our leaders to be open and honest, and not play semantic word games.

Yep....Wrong time and place...I think she messed up this one as even the Christian community is irritated she used the idea of Baptism in relation to water boarding. It was a stupid, stupid line. I said so an hour later and got hammered on FR. Ridiculous. Any interpretation you put on her line, it is wrong from a Christian perspective.
To: kiryandil
Way up this thread I stated that Palin was in favor of Registration and staying in place.
That remains the last fact here ace.
To: DoughtyOne
I must thank you for posting your Blather in Blue. That way, I don't even have to read it. It's an immense savings in time.
I'm not sure you're getting the point of many people on this thread.
It's agreed that you're an intelligent, likeable fellow in person.
HOWEVER, put you on a thread where you're the minority opinion, and clearly wrong (sorry, "failed governor" is the Left's final dismissal of Shadow President Sarah Palin), and you become this obnoxious, uptight, Blustering Blue-Ink bumpkin, ceaselessly belaboring his (incorrect) point.
I'm surprised the others had the patience to deal with your continual gnat-like buzzing about your "points".
Me, I'm just amused.

I think Palin tried to make a populist comment that would be catchy and stick with people. It was a mistake. That being said, I think her heart was in the right place. I wouldn’t ride her hard about it. It should be recognized as wrong and we should move along.
It’s not substantive as far as policy goes, the baptism part of it. It did convey she’s on the right side of water-boarding. That’s a positive.
I agree with both of your takes on it.
To: Lakeshark
Keep posting us interviews that are six years old, interviews that never proved your point, keep making up what she [Shadow President Sarah Palin] says, and pretend you don't KNOW she [Palin] came out strongly against the GOPE's amnesty/immigration plans. And that's a fact, Jack. And you can bank it.

Well yes, and of course these threads evaporate if you don't read them don't they. No my fellow FReeper, this thread will be here for many years, and people will come by and see your performance here.
You couldn't accept that someone else was right, so you proceeded to throw a hissy fit.
I'm not sure you're getting the point of many people on this thread.
It's agreed that you're an intelligent, likeable fellow in person.
And I don't think you got my point. I don't carry over my forum experiences into personal meets. I am going to be curteous to every FReeper I meet.
How many governors can you name who resigned because the opposite political party hounded them? Please, make a long list for me. I'd like to study up on what took place in their case? I'll expect that list right away, since her resignation was of no significance. That must mean it happens all the time. You, the rest of her supporters and anyone else that wants to make the case she's not going to have a tough time due to her failed Governorship, won't be getting guff from me in 2016. You'll be dealing with the public and the voters. I don't think it's going to be an easy sell. You do. Good luck with that.
I'm surprised the others had the patience to deal with your continual gnat-like buzzing about your "points".
Well, when you can't best someone on point, it does at a certain point become advisable to accept it and move on. Of course that's unless you want to continually harrass the person even though you've exhausted what little you had to offer up in the first place.
Me, I'm just amused.
Please feel free to link me to where Palin refuted her Regiester and remain in place plan. Just think of the amusement you could have then. Until then I'll remain a whole lot more amused than you are..
To: DoughtyOne; onyx; KC_Lion; kiryandil
You were wrong, you are wrong, AND YOU'VE NEVER BEEN MAN ENOUGH TO ADMIT IT. And from what I can see, you never will be.......
Why aren't you on other threads of every single GOP standard bearer or potential candidate asking for their immigration bona fides? We've noticed you haven't given us ONE link yet to a potential candidate who has the answer you demand for immigration. Why is that?
Answer: Because Doughty One is a hypocrite PDSer, nothing more, nothing less.
You are one messed up puppy.

Sarah isn't always going to say things where all will understand why she might have chosen a certain phrase.... And we well know someone is always going to be offended if they hold her to perfection.
I was not surprised some Christians seemed to be offended by the terminology used, but I also think most can easily let it roll off their shoulder as well.
