He’s not painting a “rosy picture”, he’s simply stating a simple fact...slaves had families, gardens, food.
Like Mr. Robertson said, slaves had God...they were a Godly people because they had faith, yet the left, like Mr. Bundy, have their panties in some serious twists because they think they have their “GOTCHA” moment.

Todd Akin. Actually in his case, he was repeating a talking point that a lot of people in the pro-life movement used to believe in the 70s and 80s. Evidently it had been thoroughly debunked since, but I didnt know that. I’m guessing that the interviewer was also hostile and deliberately trying to steer him into saying something embarrassing with gotcha questions. They succeeded. I thought that conservatives were a little hasty throwing him under the bus(how I hate that expression).
Of course political candidates who want a government paycheck and may be making policy need to be held to a higher standard than private citizens like Bundy.

I wasn’t around during the time of slavery so I don’t know that much about their family structure back then.
However I can’t see how it could possibly be any better today. Heck, 80% of the black kids grow up today in families without a father! About the same number are born out of wedlock. The abortion rate for blacks is almost 50%.
There is no family structure for blacks by and large...

Government dependency is a choice of many to become slaves of their government. For many others, they're aren't choices so they're dependent. That's the new slavery....some voluntary, some involuntary
And it's being fueled by the invasion of the US which takes away opportunities from the less fortunate.
