"That's exactly what I said. I said I'm wondering if they're better off under government subsidy, and their young women are having the abortions and their young men are in jail, and their older women and their children are standing, sitting out on the cement porch without nothing to do, you know, I'm wondering: Are they happier now under this government subsidy system than they were when they were slaves, and they was able to have their family structure together, and the chickens and garden, and the people had something to do? And so, in my mind I'm wondering, are they better off being slaves, in that sense, or better off being slaves to the United States government, in the sense of the subsidies. I'm wondering. That's what. And the statement was right. I am wondering."

Yes, well, Bundy is not a politician.
I have been reading hundreds of posts on numerous threads here on FR that I will say they sound like a collective sigh of relief that there is now a reason not to support Bundy in his fight for states rights. I have never realized there are so many sunshine patriots on this forum. A truly sickening and disheartening bunch.
To those of you who have not tossed your principles and character into the gutter, I am proud to stand beside you.
I agree. Another "Squirrel!" moment from our Media and Government Royals. The issue is an intrusive and overbearing Federal Government. I don't really care about Mr. Bundy's views on history and sociology.
A rule only Republicans have to follow apparently. He should unashamedly espouse his views because all the crazed progressives never hold back.
You are one smart cookie!
He's entitled to his opinion, and his comments have nothing to do with the land issue... even if the left wants them to somehow be relevant.
And I absolutely agree with him. I’ve articulated the same thing for about a decade.
The great thing about this is that a real public dialogue on this subject just got started! And we now have the internet, facebook, etc. where people can talk about it, and talk they will.
The rational side will win this. I’m actually pretty excited about it.
That's exactly right. And, worse, their children (or parents, or spouses, or siblings, etc.) could be--and often were--sold and the family forcibly separated. To praise the "family structure" that existed under slavery is ignorant at best.
You are my hero. I wanted to change my tagline to a snark comment about Reid but I’m so frigging mad I don’t remember how.
I’m beginning to think that this guy is a dem plant and this thing was a set up from the beginning.
Okay I want some of that Cuban leaf you are smoking. Rational never wins with the fools on the left.
The left is very adept at distorting issues. Of course he’s entitled to his opinion - but public opinion matters here and he’s making things more difficult than they already are.
Supporting his cause and states rights ok....drawing a parallel to black slavery to this issue just plain stupid. Absolutely brainless to be blunt, especially when there is hypersensitivity to any comparisons no matter the cause. If a conservative today cant utilize common sense and fight for a cause without attempting to draw a p arrallel to this flash point issue id rather not have speak...we all agree but all of us is not the majority needed to take the country back.
may God bless and protect this man and his family from the evil that is gathering to crush him. i’m liking him more and more.
Come stand beside me then, brother.
Reservation Indians were worse off than free range Indians.
And Entitlement Blacks might be no better off than Plantation blacks.
How many were killed in Chicago last year?
Speaking of done talking, has anyone figured out why Limbaugh is talking like a girlie man these days. What the hell is up with that. I have not heard anything worthy from him for so long.
He could have said it another way, could have been more articulate. But he’s right; living in the handout culture is the new slavery.
