Glenn Beck criticized Cliven Bundys comments on race on his radio program Thursday, saying the Nevada rancher is unhinged from reality and urging his supporters to end your relationship with him.
Hes often wondered if black people would be better of as slaves? Beck said on his program, after reading from Bundys comments on race reported by The New York Times. End your relationship. End your relationship. If that doesnt end your relationship with him, you have to go back and question where did you go wrong. You wondered if blacks were better off as slaves picking cotton and having a family life? They didnt have a family life!
The radio host and former Fox News contributor had previously urged conservatives not to align too closely with Bundy. Earlier this month, he warned that the standoff between Bundy and the federal government had brought in violent, anti-government groups.
Beck in particular zeroed in on Bundys comments about family life during slavery. If he really thinks that slaves had a family life, just that shows you how unhinged from reality this guy is, Beck said. Youve got to distance yourself, you must know who you are standing next to at all times.

The only difference between Nagourney and Lon Horiuchi is that YOU supply Nagourney the bullets...
“Many Americans still believe what they see on the news or read in print.”
“I am quite shocked by the number of them on this forum.”
I’m quite shocked at some of what ends up in print on this forum - and shocked by the number of people that apparently believe it.
Bill O’Reilly (FNC) blames the breakdown of the black family
as the root of most of the problems in the black community.
In 1965, 24% of black babies were born to single mothers. Today that figure is 73%
Rand Paul has hastily jumped to the wrong conclusion.
He keeps quoting Gandhi & scolding the militias for “training sniper rifles on BLM agents”. Now he turns against Cliven Bundy.
GB has jumped the shark. He is now MAHATMA GLENNDHI, preaching nonviolence toward those in govt ready to do violence to citizens. Just like the real Gandhi told Jews in Europe to practice nonviolence with the Nazis (true fact).
“Doomsday Food Supply Company” - LOL!
I can’t wait for tomorrow’s show from Beck: Thomas Jefferson and George Washington unhinged actually owned slaves; encourages supporters to end relationship.
Why should he? He has a well trained pack of hero worshipers that will fan out across the net to do battle with anyone pointing out that the emperor, or his words, have no clothes.
Same goes for quite a few ‘right’ wing media personalities. In many respects we are every bit as pathetic as the leftists when it comes to this.
Adam Nagourney is a government sniper who uses words instead of bullets.
I remember whose side he fought on when Clinton was getting impeached. He was a Clinton man, all the way.
If you dig up his resume from the Bush years, I'll bet he was sniping the Bush Administration the whole time.
” It is reported that Glenn Beck said Aunt Jemima tastes like honey!
Good hell, he is a racist/sexist! “
SURPRISE ! SURPRISE ! Actually - Mr. Bundy DID NOT say what the *NY Times* - and OTHERS - reported that he said.
Alex Jones ! good, honest, guy ! interviewed Mr. Bundy on his show today, first hour. That set it all straight.
Alex questioned him in detail, and both of them plan to have more on it. Lots of detail. Cliven said he is no racist and in fact has black friends. et al
FreeRepublic is the beacon of truth
One. You can’t believe the New York Times quoted him accurately.
Two. I’m sure whatever he said was taken out of context.
Three. This is all a disinformation campaign by the Left to discredit the outpouring of support against the government’s overbearing behavior.
Four. The Left wants to paint all people who want to limit the federal government as racists and so they went looking for something to confirm their biases.
Five. This changes nothing regarding Cliven Bundy’s battle with the BLM.
See post 59 for the link to listen to Bundy in context.
Overall, absolutely. The problem is that like ALL other sites like this that ‘beacon’ is filled with ‘a thousand points of light’ that put the hero du’jour ahead of the truth.
“...Just like the real Gandhi told Jews in Europe to practice nonviolence with the Nazis (true fact)...”
And that led to cattle cars and gas chambers.
Didn’t work out so well.
I first discovered Glenn Beck through his website, about a year before he started broadcasting in Philadelphia; so when I say I’ve been a fan of his for a long time, it’s not exaggeration. I’ve listened to him on the radio starting shortly before 9-11-01.
I was researching democrats versus communism on the internet, and came across his website where posted the 1963 Communist Goals from the US Congressional Record - which later appeared as a chapter in his book “The Real America”.
He’s no longer on Philly OTA radio media.
I don’t know what changed him or what happened to him over the years. Maybe he’s been threatened, who knows. But if ever there was a clear bright line about encroachment on property and the rights of a Citizen, this Nevada situation is it, and it seems to me that Beck’s head is in the wrong place on it.
Beck is so far around the bend that he can’t see the bend anymore!
Agreed.
Cliven Bundy would probably be better served if he kept his comments cognent to his BLM problems but his comments about blacks were not racist IMO.
I think he was really saying that blacks would be better off picking cotton than sitting around unemployed living off government handouts. It just didn’t come out in a politically correct way.
And it has nothing to do with the problem at hand which is the over militarized government harassing the citizenry.
Glenn Beck will still be telling you to stay peaceful when Martial Law is declared and they are confiscating weapons. He’s a pacifistic kook with a messianic complex.
I'm ending my relationship with Big Government shill Glenn Beck.
I think most see Beck for what he is now. A progressive.
Jones is more level headed than Beck! For crying out loud.
I hope so. The problem is that those who adore him will simply transfer their loyalty to the next person who says what they want to hear rather than forming opinions on matters for themselves.
That way leads to madness. And things like Feb Bush 2016 voting.
