Conservative writer Ann Coulter is enthusiastically endorsing Tea Party-backed candidate David Brat in his primary challenge of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) in the upcoming June primary, citing Cantor's support for immigration reform.
In her nationally syndicated column, Ms. Coulter wrote that her endorsement was based on Brat's opposition to Cantor's immigration policies. Ms. Coulter labeled Cantor a "Maniacal Amnesty Supporter" in the column, and described him as "amnesty-addled."
"Cantor says 'immigration reform could be an economic boon to this country,'" wrote Coulter. "You don't have to be an economics professor [like Dave Brat] to know that bringing in millions of workers is not 'an economic boon' to the workers already here. (If only we could bring in millions of workers to compete for Cantor's job.)"
Coulter applauded Brat, who she wrote "responded to Cantor's baby-talk, saying immigration 'lowers wages, adds to unemployment, and the taxpayer pays the tab for any benefits to folks coming in.'"
"Anyone opposing an incumbent Republican for any reason other than amnesty is a fraud or an idiot," Ms. Coulter argued. "Right now, immigration and Obamacare are the only things that matter. Since every Republican voted against Obamacare, that leaves only immigration," she added.
Ms. Coulter wrote that Brat was one of three men who are challenging incumbent Republican supporters of amnesty in the primaries who pass her test of conservative campaign credibility "with flying colors."
The other two are Dr. Greg Brannon, running in North Carolina's Republican U.S. Senate primary, and Frank Roche, challenging a Republican in North Carolina's 2nd Congressional District, who Ms. Coulter describes as "the lying, amnesty-supporting Renee Ellmers."

She was in love...
In the 2012 primaries, Mitt was the most hawkish GOP candidate on Immigration.
In speeches, in Sunday interviews, in debates, and on paper, Romney was the most hawkish by a mile.
That was the main policy reason Ann Coulter supported Romney.
And, that was the main policy reason Coulter rejected Chris Christie.
Now, I know you guys disagree with her on a lot of other issues.
And I know Romney has recently backed away from some of the Immigration positions he held in 2012.
However, until a couple months ago, Ted Cruz was clearly to the Left of Romney on Immigration.
Just recently, Cruz has gotten a lot more specific and a lot more hawkish on Immigration.
I was surprised at the sharp comments Coulter made about Cruz and Immigration, but I am not ready to throw Coulter to the sharks just yet.
Her book sales must really be in the toilet.
“Lets see if she starts flopping like a Romney!”
Actually Romney’s Amnesty position seems to be the best one possible. Whether he meant any of it is another question. Also whether he would have come after our guns and defended Obamacare will always be open questions. And like just about everyone else here, I had/have serious doubts about this guy as president.
Romney’s Amnesty position was to simply make life difficult for the Illegals, so they would WANT to go home. No benefits at all (i.e., Food Stamps, Health Care, Housing, Education...). That is the best solution, for once their home, their kids stay there with them...and their kids.
The “Goddess” redeems herself here. Good for you Ann I was worried about you for a bit
Ma'am, may I be so cynical as to think that it's more along the lines of her wanting to sell more books to conservatives?
“Broken clock” BINGO! We have a winner! She talks enough to occasionally say something useful, so what?
Congress needs a Brat to fight the Rats.
As if the primary challenger didn’t have enough hurdles to overcome —
And I know Romney has recently backed away from some of the Immigration positions he held in 2012.
That said, I still love Ann and simply grant her the occasional dispensation when it comes to this issue or that. She’s a WRITER and doesn’t have a vote on these things in any case.
Ann Coulter wrote the first four chapters of Treason. Few who criticize her can claim better conservative credential than what is on those pages.
ANN BECAME INSUGNIFICENT AFTER ENDORSING CHRISTIE .
I cant get passed the awful things she has said about Sarah.
I just dont like the woman (Ann) , I really have no use for her
So according to Coulter, government printing a trillion dollars a year doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter until it matters.
I don’t think VA voters often deny re-nominations to the inbcumbents they recognize. But liberals did that in 1966 to the late Howard W. Smith, known for his opposition to civil rights and feminism.
My feeble attempt at humor was meant to target RINO Pride in Romney’s famous “Etch-A-Sketch” daily flip flop stance on the topics of the day.
I stand corrected by you in that Romney did not flip flop on his Self Deportation concept, which was and is the cheapest way yet to increase job opportunities for Americans, and reduce the devastating financial taxpayer burden caused since 1986 by the Illegal Alien Invaders from Mexico.
She has him confused with qctor Benjamin Brat.
Ann reminds everyone of the crazy, eccentric aunt every family has. She’ll say and do things that make us wonder if she’s all there but in the end we still love her. That said, she’s another GOP pundit who has spent a little too much time in the establishment arena and it’s warping her political mind.
Happy to hear. Sometimes I don’t understand this woman’s mind though, she’s essentially backing Mitt Romney in 2016, combine that with her mancrush on Christie.
The Republicans might as well push for voting rights for the dead; they vote Democrat too.
